12:30 PM Arsenal vs Everton
The big talk here probably gonna be Theo Walcott facing his ormer team, and that happens a short week after the transfer to Everton.
Arsenal have realy been night and day troughout the season and their recent form hasn't changed that.
In January it's been from losses to the likes of Swansea, B'mouth and Nottingham (FA Cup) while crushing Crystal Palace in the first 22 min and getting a draw and win against Chelsea in the EFL Cup.
To put it simple, Arsenal is as close as you get to beeing an unpredictable team this season. But it's one thing you can count on, and that's goals both ways.
In their last 7 matches it's been only one match with less than 3 goals, both teams scoring in all other 6 matches.
They lost Sanchez during the January window and their new acquisition in Aubameyang is not likely to play here, but that shouldn't stop Arsenal from scoring based on their 3 matches after Sanchez left. In those 3 matches they've scored 6 goals by 5 different players (1 own goal) with Monreal of all the lone two goal scorer.
With or without Sanchez, Arsenal have gone scoreless of the field 4 times out of 25 league matches, 3 of those 4 coming in August/September as they had a slow start to the season. On the other hand, they've keept a clean sheet in "just" 9 of those 25 league matches, most of them coming in the early part of the season.
While Arsenal looks to have another disappointing season an loose out on a Champions League spot, Everton is eyeing the chance for a top 7 finish and the chance at a EURO League spot. The addition of Walcott and his great debut, with two goals in their 2-1 win over Leicester during the midweek won't hurt their hopes for a solid second half of the season.
Evertons struggles earlier this season have been getting the ball in the back of the nett, so the addition of a player like Walcott to go along with the likes of Rooney and Niasse gonna be a big boost.
I do not expect this encounter to be a repeat of their meeting earlier this season that ended in a wild 5-2 win for Arsenal, but I would be suprised if either teams don't score in this one.
Head to head, 4 of their last 5 have both gone over 2.5 goals and had both teams scoring. Giving up 3 goals to Swansea don't produce trust in the back for Arsenal. Combining that with the addition of Walcott for Everton who besides scoring himself should be able to elevate the preformance for both Rooney and Sigurdsson who have been underpreforming this season in my eye, and I do not see Arsenal shutting them out.
I think this gonna be an entertaining, high tempo, "back and forth" match with a lot of chances.
