I have a couple..Had tix to Seals and Croft in '74 or '75.This was in a concert hall in Ocean Grove NJ.(Next to AsburyPark on the shore).Well this town was/is ultra religious and only reason they had a 'rock' concert there was probably because S+C had some anti-abortion song at the time.
So 4 of us were smoking a joint of $15 a z Mexican weed outside the venue in between these tents that summer pilgrims live in on retreats and such.We get surrounded by the local cops and busted..Into the police station we go..There was one girl in our group and we insisted she was not smoking..But here we are pretty high to boot and it was a joke.
The freaking chief's wife came in (Her name was Madge) and berating us for being drug addicts while the cops are actually testing the weed using those kits..laughable but our parents called to get us and the aftermath of that sucked..Freaking cops would not give me the tix as a souvie also..As we were leaving another group of kids are brought in..
We made the front page of the Asbury Park Press newspaper.
Any way this town used to have gates to the city that would close at midnight on Saturday-no Sunday driving allowed..a couple years later a newspaper delivery guy took his case to the Supreme Court and won it.They opened the gates (I was one of the first cars in just for the sake of it) and they disbanded the PO under the Separation of church and state was clearly broken here. Was at another concert and I recognized one of the group that were busted after us and we had a good laugh about it.
Another was a Clapton concert at the Meadowlands late 80's.4 of us and we left our winter coats,a bag of expensive weed and a wristwatch in the car's glovebox. We come out and my '79 Camaro is long gone/stolen.NY/NJ.Port Authority cops who run the complex think we are high and forget where we parked, but I knew where we were as the car we parked behind was there and had a unique bumper sticker..Took an hour of driving around the complex with them before they report it stolen. They drop us off at a train station and no trains going where we can connect to the Shore..It's Febuary and freezing and no coats..eventually we make some calls and get home like 4 am..Rough night.
A few days later I get a call from a Brooklyn NY cop telling me they found my car on the street RUNNING and all banged up.I eventually got the car back but it took two trips to lovely Crospy Ave in Brooklyn...
What do you all have?
