Fun LSU Factoid.....................
LSU thought they had to throw first time on the #1 Ranked defense and all...... and went with Lee for 30 minutes.
Live and learn and throwing not necessary........ running will be enough

Only hope Bama has is Trent.................. and Trent is the REAL deal.
But as little as the LSU Linebackers are........... they are Seniors.

DBU is not a weekly trendy thing.
Morris Claiborne is the best CB to ever play the game. And there are 5 more guys back there ready.

I agree with most of your points and discussions. The point i was trying to make was Tappy making out like Alabama just flat out dominated the game and still lost. The game could have gone either way. It was close on both sides. Alabama outgained LSU by 53 yds. LSU rushed for more yards than Alabama. LSU's special teams vastly outplayed Alabama. Alabama had more passing yards. LSU made plays when they had to so i think the better team won that night. I agree there are countless examples of superior teams who outgain their oppontents by 200 plus yards but have lots of turnovers and at the end of the game the "better" team lost. That just wasn't the case on Nov. 5. Bama fans keep bringing up the fact that LSU had no offense in that game but they don't realize that Alabama didn't either. 53 yds more on offense is not a big difference. Most fans also don't realize how important special teams are so they don't get the credit they deserve. Again, this isn't pointed towards you, it's a couple of others on here who can't seem to discuss games without a bunch of fanboy nonsense. (although i give Tappy some credit, when he wants to he can discuss games reasonably without resorting to cussing and name calling and all that other nonsense.)We all know who the other fanboy homer is who just spouts fanboy crap and calls everyone haters if they don't root for Bama.

There is no question it was a close and extremely hard-fought game. I don't think anyone can argue that point. For me the most salient point of the first game was not the 53-yard differential, it is that LSU's offense was completely one-dimensional. We saw the same result against Georgia who runs a very similar defense (albeit less talented) to Alabama's. That's why I have said repeatedly that JJ will have to make some plays in the passing game to keep Alabama's defense remotely honest.
Being one-dimensional will really be a problem if LSU gets behind in the game by a TD or more. If that were the case, then I think LSU will have almost no chance of recovering without some semblence of a forward passing game.
Alabama, on the other hand, was able to remain balanced offensively in the first game. They only punted twice the entire game. They had plenty of scoring opportunities, they just weren't able to cash them in.
All-in-all, in the first game I would give Alabama edges on both sides of the ball, and in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Obviously special teams wasn't even close and was the difference in the game.
Based on what I saw in the first game (and I have watched it probably 6 or 7 times now), assuming LSU is not able to score any non-offensive TDs, I think 2 TDs will be enough to win the game. The problem is that I don't think Alabama will score 2 "offensive" TDs. Again, assuming no non-defensive TDs, I think we'll see a final score of something along the lines of 16-10, 13-6 . . . something really ugly like that.
I maintain that UNDER is the best play in the game.

I understand your point about the homerism (and there is plenty on both sides). I addressed that in the post in the post you responded to. This is a gambling forum. There are other forums better suited for the two fan bases to argue over whose daddy can beat up whom Covers, however, is not really the place for it.
