Covers doesnt want to take this forum down so might as well put down a prediction for the next world cup.

Can't see a South American team winning in Russia and of the European teams, none has more scope and young talent than Belgium.

Spain, Italy, France and Holland will all be rebuilding. Germany are obvious favorites at 5-1 but 20-1 on Belgium is way too big. Hazard, De Bruyne, Origi, Januzaj, Lukaku will be in their prime in Russia and the likes of Kompany, Mirallas and Vermaelen will still be young enough to play a senior role.

It's too bad the next WC has to be in the Soviet Union.... err  Russia.  Who know the politics to play out over the next four years... and for more personal reasons here in CA, the 12-hour difference is gonna suck for viewing.

FIFA has got a couple of real doozys on its hand with Russia and Qatar as its next two sites for WC.   One likes to invade countries, and the other is a state-sponsor of terrorism.

Ahhhh  .   good times.

Belgium is very talented and YOUNG!!!! They are an up and coming team to watch for. It will be interesting to see how they play in the EURO Cup.

Don't count out South America, Central America, and North America. The Americas did VERY well in this past WC. I know it was in South America, but wow did they play good.

Some teams to watch for in the Americas IMO:

Costa Rica: played very well and should have advanced if not for choking in penalty kicks vs the Dutch. They clearly outplayed the Netherlands in the match, just couldn't get one to go in.

Colombia: Watch out for this team! James Rodriguez was an absolute STUD in this past WC and the team played very well even without their best player Radamel Falcao! This team is a great value pick to win the whole thing.

Chile: They should have beat Brazil and advanced. Lots of young talent and Vidal is gonna be a household name soon.

Mexico: Should have beat the Netherlands if not for giving up two goals in the last 3 mins of regulation. One of the biggest choke jobs in recent history, but they played well. Goalie Ochoa is a stud and they have lots of scoring potential with Chicharito and Dos Santos and crew. Remember, this team won the Gold Medal in the Olympics a few years ago.

Brazil: Always dangerous. Yes, they are not the same team as years past, but I think the butt kicking that Germany gave them will wake them up. Can never count them out.

Argentina: Lionel Messi is the best player in the world. Whenever you have that on your team, you are always a threat. The runner ups will be hungry to get back to the championship game next WC, and with promising young talent around the corner, watch out for them.

Uruguay: Yes their roster is getting older and their star players have lost a step or two with age, but it is still a potent lineup. Their U20 and U17 teams are performing very well, and they will surely call up some those players for the main team. Do not count them out!

In my views Argentina will be favorite to win the 2018 world cup. Probably Messi might be playing his second last world cup. So he'll be eager to win it for nation.

If Belgium is that much of a long shot.. I'll take 'em.

I really want to root for Uruguay...I've done so well with them before on America tournaments..   but they will really need some of that U18 development to take form.  It is really Cavani & Suarez right now with some great Forwards...  And that is not too bad.

In my opinion, Argentina will win this time as Messi will be eager to win this time.

Germany might be the toughest competitor.

Good to see this thread alive and kicking when we're nearly two years separated from both the '14 & '18 WC.   I'll really be interested to see how the Euro 2016 goes and who shines there.  LY, was really impressed with the 2015 S. America cup and how Chile performed.   Yes, they were the hosts, but they really have a good nucleus of guys there, including Vidal.

Hey!! Its been great to here that FIFA Is here again in forums. Spain, Italy, France and Holland will all be rebuilding. Germany are obvious favorites at 5-1 but 20-1 on Belgium is way too big. I am a huge fan of Playing FIFA games but Online games ever since I ordered it from www.instant-gaming.com. I would like to hear more on this topic.
