realistically you COULD get the Florida Panthers as the eastern team IF they get a decent goaltender off season. Dale Tallon is building a competetor in South Florida just like he did in Chicago when he was there.

to me!
to expand, to win a damn series would make my day! if they dont next year it will be 2 decades without winning a series they have won 1st place a few times, but just like the caps relied on yashin! a big, strong, player with god given talent, but was the laziest athelete around. the truth of the matter is nothing good can happen to my boys until thier future is secure, they are now the chiefs, but there is no rich bitch in fla! lets go kings!

It's only a "shit series" because the Kings have to now go back to that garbage dump swamp called NJ to pick up thier hardware...

I actually enjoy watching Islanders games (these days) because the endings are so darn crazy one way or the other. They have some talented kids on that team... but I still root for them to get smoked everytime they play either Philly or the Kings... Sorry Potvin... you understand.
I enjoy watching the Islanders and Oilers for thier young guns... and to make some $$$ with upset picks.

Same for Tampa Bay... I think they will be one of the teams to watch next season also IF they can get some decent goaltending play... Could be some good playoff battles in the last few weeks again.

the "Bugs" were my pre-season "long shot" pick out of the East this season. freeking CRAZY that "Der Schmied" SUCKED in Tampa and became a STAR this year in Phoenix.
my West pick? that OTHER SoCal team

Make the fucking net bigger !
it's hockey "sacrilege" BUT I would go even further, Getty3. one foot wider and 6 inces higher. all that would do is adjust for the ridiculous modern goalie equipment.
one other option I have heard would be to use thinner pipes for the frame. the current "standard" goal has 2 3/8" pipes. with the modern materials available they could go to 1 3/8" and retain the "outside dimension thereby increasing the goal mouth 2 inches in width and 1 inch height without doing anything "radical". you would probably have more "post" shots going into the goal also with thinner pipes

Oh good gawd. Lets increase it by one foot, why not two feet.....
They have cracked down on the equipment a bit, but bottom line the goaltenders are much bigger and better trained now.
You have two defensive teams....It happens sometimes. Look at the scoring since the lockout, it has gone up every single year. Don't be so knee jerk, just because two defensive teams with very good goaltenders are playing against each other now.
The Celtics and Heat are low scoring teams. Why not make the baskets a few inches bigger so they can score more ?

well you can say that BUT ex for the Penguins vs Flyers "NBA on Ice", WHICH btw had the BEST TV ratings of all the series, MOST of the playoffs this year have been "trap-crap" Soccer on Ice.
SOMETHING needs to be done about scoring OR the sport is going to DIE at least here in the States. Goaltenders aren't going to give up their "steam shovel" trapper or "medieval armor" SO the best MINOR adjustment is the goal size

What about letting the players have a bigger curve on thier stick.
