The avatar nonsense is a joke; let's not get distracted though from helping each other pick WINNERS, I could use a good pick for the 7th of Jan. Got 5 Streak Survivor (5 of 6 for the month) but if I cannot find something tomorrow I'll have to forget competing for the month and just try to keep streak going by picking slower. Got help here in past by a lot of regulars---too many to name--- I seem to see that the books do not have small ,esp. O/Us, if you can find any, capped well yet. Also is coming back and should be a few dogs pay well at 1st GLA

Alabama is my pick. I believe Alabama will be able to run the ball on Notre Dame and control the line of scrimmage. This in turn will open up the passing game. McCarron isn't the greatest of QB's and I don't believe he has much of a future in the NFL but at this level he can get enough done to win this game. Alabama's Defense will create turnovers and frustrate Notre Dame.
Also I have a theory about big games that I have followed for several years. Sometimes I have gone against this theory and regret it. The theory is in College Football the Southern teams win the vast majority of these big games. Not just because of the SEC either. You see it over and over across the board. I don't know why I just know that it happens in the overwhelming majority of big games and Bowl games. Midwest teams in particular lose to Southern teams. Obscure angle but believe me it has hold up for years. Check the records and you will see.

I wish I had posted my score prediction before the game, because you guys would have thought I was crazy! But believe me, I predicted it would be 47-13 Alabama. It was very close to that, indeed, and it went exactly as I had hoped it would go. I could not be more proud of my team! Crimson Tide, baby! Congrats to Bama Nation tonight.Congrats to all Bama backers and money rakers!

I'm not a Bama fan but I admire greatness when I see it. I have always respected Alabama dating back to the Bear Bryant days. I am a little tired of the SEC winning every year. But and that's a big ol Brazilian Butt. My hate for Notre Dame goes far and deep. First of all being a Southern California boy we just don't care to much for Notre Dame to begin with. I never thought Notre Dame was #1 in the country and I can't wait for a real Playoff to start next year so we can get rid of this joke of a college system. I think everybody can agree that the Oregon Ducks would have been a better challenge to Bama than the Notre Dame joke. Too bad we haven't seen that game during Alabama's great run the last few years.

On a personal not our neighbors nephew is Manti Teo. Really nice folks. The wife's brother is Teo's father. I had no idea that they were related and it just came up in casual conversation at the beginning of the season. I believe Teo will be a fine NFL Linebacker. I'm not going to say he will replace Ray Lewis like some are saying because anybody that knows me knows I firmly believe Rookies have to prove themselves. We all know how many heralded Rookies have done nothing in the NFL. How many Heismen winners make it big in the NFL? Exactly. Johnny Football will be an exception but even he must prove himself.
RG3 is an exception as well but your best players are the ones you don't see coming. Tom Brady, Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers and many more. The best Rookie story to me this year is Russell Wilson because nobody saw this kid doing what he did. He beat out Flynn with his $50 million contract and Tavaris Jackson who is hardly a premium starter but he can make the team as a adequate backup. Wilson beat out both of those guys and helped ship Jackson to Buffalo. No disrespect to RG3 and Andrew Luck but those guys are at home and Wilson is going to Atlanta next week.
Look who the Seahawks beat this year the Patriots, Niners, Packers, Bears and Vikings. All Playoff teams except the Bears who finished at 10-6. That's what you call road tested and battle tough. So yeah sometimes the guys you least expect or who are unheralded become your best players. In my book Russell Wilson is the Rookie of the year hands down.

Thanks for posting that pick smoothd but I didn't get it down as didn't see it on time; also I was on ND all year so it would have been hard to go against them---looks like most everyone did well so congrats.

They beat all the those teams at home except the bears and u forgot they lost to the Packers. I wouldn't go has far as saying road tested if they get down 14-0 to Falcons there toast.

The refs and the NFL said they beat the Packers which is all we can go by. But I get your point. LOL. I'm not a believer in the Falcons at all. Until they start winning Playoff games I don't count them as anything but a joke. My cousin lives down there. He's a bigtime Redskins fan but he likes the Falcons since he's been there for 15 years. I'm giving him the business because he thinks the Falcons will go all the way now. I'm not buying it.
