....I'm celebrating the double over our neighbors on a 7-1 aggregate. Regardless of how these next two weeks turn out, I think we can all agree the next 5 years or so could be very fun to watch these two monster rivals go back and forth. As a City fan, it sure was fun to watch United be thoroughly outplayed for 70+ minutes.

But congratulations, Ark United need to buy players this summer, without a doubt, if they want to still be in the race for the premiership next season. I fear for the future if we haven't gotten several new, fresh and quality players already established when Ferguson retires which shouldn't be very long until he does.

Scholes and Giggs, while both have definitely lost a step, still mean a ton to United in that midfield. They need young players that can fill in for their roles; not just the flashy Valencia / Nani / Young type of buys. Those type of playmakers have their purpose in certain games, especially against the Wigans / Blackburns that defend with 11. But for the big matches, you need players that can dominated the midfield. Gareth Barry and Yaya Toure are perfect examples of that today; they dominated the midfield and allowed City to dominate the game.

you havent won yet Ark, city have shown patchy away form all season, going to St.James park wont be easy but yes, its so satisfying beating your local rivals.

ManU needs defenders and here they go after Hazard
Debatable. Jones, Smalling, Vidic and Ferdinand is plenty. They were unlucky this season with Vidic being out for the year. They really need a creative midfielder to replace Scholes. Hazard can be that guy for them.
As for City, I find it comical over the celebration as if they have won the title. Winning at Newcastle is going to be incredibly difficult. United will still win the title.

My title clearly says I'm not celebrating the title. If I find a line I would gladly bet United to win the title still with City's tough schedule remaining (how poetic would it be for Mark Hughes to steal away the title?). Sweeping our rivals that have dominated the English Soccer scene for decades is such a great feeling and has to be a sign of the power shift in the league. I'm in no way saying we surpassed Man U or that Mancini is better than SAF or anything like that. I'm saying that this season officially announced that we're here. We thoroughly outplayed United in both EPL matches this season and the EPL title is in our own hands. That's quite an improvement from, say, five years ago?
As for personnel, completely agree that United need a creative midfielder. Like I said to beest, they have attacking wingers and forwards but no box to box midfielders they can rely on. Scholes and Giggs are on their way our and SAF needs replacements.
