Very strange night caps off a very strange last few days in MMA...
Overall, the plays went 3-5 for a loss of 20.35 units as my two big plays completely bombed. Funny thing about the main event is that I actually think Mendes would have won that first round...
As far as the Erick Silva DQ goes, I really think it was the right call...
Here is the recap:
1. "Pink Slip" Rumble Johnson ,
2. Chand Mendes
3. Ednaldo Oliveira
4. Tavares - Stout over 2.5 rounds
5. Alcantara - Omigawa over 2.5 rounds
6. Parlay of Pyle , Carvalho and Erick Silva
7. Parlay of Tavares , Barboza and Palhares
8. Omigawa

although i have only been on the covers forum for less than six months, i hereby nominate this as the dumbshit post of the year award. this piece-of-shit who goes by the name rumble has three times flagrantly violated an unwritten rule of ethics among fighters that first and foremost you make weight so there is no unfair advantage, as this is the hurt business.

Aldo landed the more powerful strikes but Mendes landed more in terms of volume. The "hugging" against the cage was actually the lone dominant position earned by either fighter in the round. He had Aldo's back for almost a minute, landing knee after knee into Aldo's legs. If Aldo had not blatantly cheated by grabbing the fence during that takedown, Mendes would have landed it. Yamasaki warned Aldo repeatedly for grabbing the fence during that exchange. That is why I scored it 10-9 for Mendes.

I agree, he was about to be thrown on his head/neck and held the fence. I don't understand why refs don't automatically stop the fight and deduct a point for that stuff. It's not as if these guys don't know the rules - to me it's the same as kicking a downed opponent, almost always gets a -1 for a first offense.
