That article didn't say who introduced the bill. It also said that House Republicans voted down an amendment requiring all publicly traded companies to disclose how many employees were in America versus overseas.
Now why would they vote down that amendment? That seems odd.
let me guess (with the normal disclaimer that none of this is factual and it's all lies), house republicans don't want companies to bring jobs back here. companies employ people outside the US because it's cheaper to do so. and when labor costs go down, the company executives make more money. when company executives make more money, they have more money to buy politicians. politicians like to sell themselves at the highest price.
maybe wallstreet and others more economically astute than me can check my logic.
i'm rather pessimistic but i'm at the point where if politicians are talking about it (immigration, bring jobs back here, gay marriage, abortion, etc), they either don't give a shit about that particular issue or want the opposite to happen. the things politicians truly care about aren't mentioned.
