Plasma is a better pic then most LCD's, but you can't have a room with a good deal of natural light in it. Hell, at night lamps can even screw with reflections.
Stick with LED, very bright pic, low power sucking and doesn't put off heat like the Plasma's

"Plasma....Cheaper but bulb life is the shortest of the 3 and expected to burn out and repair is not worth the expense. Still a decent TV but I think most plasmas are cheaper also because they have half the specs of full HD."
Not sure what you're referencing.......maybe DLP? Plasma's don't have bulbs..........& most are 1080p (full HD). There's full HD in every type of "TV" now.
I'd agree that the LED's (LED backlit LCD) are probably the best all-around.......as long as you get one with a 240hz refresh rate. I've seen many with the 120hz rr that still have motion blur when watching sports & it's annoying. I like plasma's.........has the best picture but as stated, the screen reflectiveness can be annoying as hell in the wrong light.

Go to Sam's Club and check out the Samsung, it's sick (60") we were watching Iron Man 2 when we went in last weekend, it seemed as though it was a live screening, it looked like live HD video. I'm definately copping one, $1500-$1600!!!!

I bought a LED and took it back and got LCD. damn LED kept making me and the wife dizzy. It was like you were actually part of the picture. Maybe its something you have to get used to, but i couldnt after a week.
And trust me i wanted LED to work for me, because of everything i read about them but it didnt.
LCD with HD works great for me

LED- best way to go. Usually most expensive of the 3, lasts the longest and uses the least about of energy to run the screen. You can always spot an LED because a 50 inch screen is thinner than a laptop and its very light.
recently replaced a 40" Samsung LCD with a 42" Visio LED and am VERY happy with it. the colors seem to be more "true" and there is no "lag" when watching fast moving sports like basketball or ice hockey in standard def like the "son of sam" LCD had.
looked at a LOT of LCD's and LED's at both Wal-Mart and Sam's Club before we bought and the Vision seemed to have the best performance for the price. 42" LED was $625 and 47" LED $800. also has excellent sound with a built in "sound bar" on the bottom.
didn't consider a Plasma for the reasons many people mentioned. reflection glare from any lamps in a room, "burn in" and alleged shorter lifespan.
