That debate was awesome. I loved seeing both these clowns kinda-sorta take shots at each other but kinda-sorta respect each other, and then chill with each other's families at the end like they were at a fuckin bar-b-q or something.
Mitt won that shit, no question. You know what impression I got from him? I got the sense that he finally woke up and realizied "OMG, I'm super fucking rich. If I lose this thing..well, eh, I'll just go for a swim in my Scrooge McDuck money bin." He appeared super-chill and calm, like a totally different person.
After seeing these two jerks it really hit home: none of these assholes care at all about us. Romney, Obama, makes no difference. Think about it. We've walked on the Moon...split the atom...peered into the furthest reaches of space. With all humankind's technological advances, all the materials at our disposal...we can't fix a few economic problems? Can't figure out a way to accomodate everyone?
I don't care which side you're on. None of these people are the answer. There shouldn't even be 2 parties. Just one party that combines the best attributes from each.

Problem is, one party will never work because of mankinds inherent greed and search for power. There must be checks and balances in all political systems.
There should be massive reforms to our current system in term limits and caps on campain spending. Elimination of lobbyists is a must as well.
I believe our forefathers envisioned a system where average joes could run for office and do an adequate job managing our society. Unfortunately, in our current system one seemingly needs to be a career politician to be considered as an able candidate.
Its also unfortunate that our world is rife with cultural differences, and government systems that create divide with countries and even ethnic or religious groups of people.
Imagine if every country that existed today had the same form of honest, compationate and stable democratic rule with similar goals, aspirations and freedoms. In such a utopia there would be no need for a strong military or national defense.
Back to reality, we deal with contries that have hated each other for 1000 years and likely will double that number if the world still exists.
On the other hand, would America still be the greatest nation if China had a different approach in regards to human rights and individualism? If Chinese people had our freedoms they would likely challenge us in every category. Matter of fact, insert any other major country if things were similar.
Fast forward 50 years and what do the history books say about this period in time? What light will we be seen in from a global standpoint? Will we be seen as a nation that cares in only our own affairs, or , will be seen as a nation that legitimitely tries to help out other nations as we can, or, will we be seen as a greedy nation that used our power for our own corrupt gain?
Perhaps a mixture of the three. How many of us even consider how we will be seen that far down the road? How many of us even care about that?

Mr Cooper, you are so wrong. President Obama does care about people. But he can only do what the system lets him do.
It is plain as day that he wants to help people more the Myth Robney does. Robney said it, just off the cuff remark.. "Where your money is, is where your heart is." That is so telling, the guy is a freaking greedy..
Where did Obama go after he graduated ? Wall Street lawyer ? NO. He went to the streets of Chicago to help.
There are two kinds of people in the world, givers and takers. Myth and family are takers. Make friends with a taker, you'll be taken...Vote on a taker and you'll be taken.

I would just like common sense to rule this country for a time. I see valid points from both sides. I'll talk with a guy I work with who is ultra-conservative. He'll make very good points on the economy, but then he goes overboard and exposes himself as a hypocritical cold-hearted asshole, and you can see how his harsh cold viewpoints just don't translate to the real world.
Then I have this relative (an annoying-ass in-law) who hasn't had a job in years, and he's the poster child for bleeding heart whiny wishy washy liberals. And then he, like the other guy, just goes too far to the extreme.
My question/dilema is...if MOST of us kinda want the same thing: we want equality, we want to provide for our families and are willing to work hard, we don't want socialism, we don't want crony capitalism, we could give two fucks if gay people want to marry, we want to provide a safety net for the truly needy and end the handouts, we want a fair tax code, etc...why the fuck can't we get this done already? I would think me and a bunch of the posters on here could bang this shit out in one afternoon. I'll order pizza and just bring some beer.
The answer I get back from most people is "it's because politicians do what's best for themselves and not the people."
Don, I think at the end of the day they both "care"...using that word loosely. I love and care for my daughter, but that means telling her "no" more than telling her "yes." Know what I'm saying?
