Looking to switch from ATT to straighttalk. I have the ATT IPHONE 4. Has anyone use straighttalk with the iphone4? How is the service? Do I need to jailbreak anything? Is the data unlimited on the iphone on this plan?
I looked very hard into straighttalk some time ago. The pricing looks so good.
I mean I really researched it, but whenever I found actual customers that made the switch, not so great things to say.
I decided I prefer verizon and being overcharged.

I've been looking to move to a smartphone sometime in the near future and was looking into Straight Talk when they started advertising the $45 plan. Let me see if I can remember everything....
I believe a lot of people are fairly satisfied with their service. When I was looking into cricket a couple of years back many people complained about the dead zones and how texts sometimes wouldn't arrive for days. I don't believe I've heard those complaints with Straight Talk thus far.
Although many people say that they will throttle your data once it hits 2 GB, but they won't cut it off completely. It will just run slowly. Basically means that you can't run too much youtube or stream too much video. I just hope that they don't throttle a gamecast or something when I'm following a game.
The main complaints about these prepaid services is that the customer service is virtually non-existent. That can be expected, but I wouldn't expect to need to call them after the initial setup. You can expect long wait times if you need to dial in, but that's probably one of the main ways they can have a mobile service for so cheap.
I believe you can port your number over with some kinda trick that doesn't cost too much.
Another good thing is that amazon and a lot of other web sites run specials for $219.99 for 6 months, so you aren't even paying the $45 a month even. There may be sales tax associated with it, but it's still cheaper than a main carrier which would charge you approximately $95 for one line with all the essentials and the boatload of hidden fees. Basically a $50 savings per month.
One thing I just read is that straight talk is about to discontinue selling AT&T SIM cards allowing access to their towers. They're apparently not too fond of such a cheap competitor, and I don't blame them.
It's not a competitor's link, so I don't think there should be an issue posting a couple of links for reading material for you.

You can search straight talk on that site and find more threads. If I were you, I'd go ahead and purchase one of those $15 SIMs before they sell out, while you're still deciding.
