sounds like the Isl's got a "big body" D with Griffin Reinhart which should help their "defensive D". like Streit, Visnovsky more an "offensive D" than a "net cleaner"
like I said, "oodle of overs" next year on the Island.
i was expecting a different d man,but like it, they addressed a concern, overs looking strong next year! i think your boys did as well as they could under the circumstances,ALOT in return, good luck!

If the Leafs really do get Luongo... How much of a difference would that really make...??? 5-10 wins...??? Still would not make the playoffs since they would probably wins most of those in games that would have gone to OT... so 5-10 points...???

Shame they're not still in Hartford... Maybe ESPN would start liking hockey again... and maybe even show a highlight once in a while... Naaaahhhh... They hate hockey... Just Linda Cone likes hockey there.

Can't believe the Hawks took a winger. Get some fuckin defense. Ilike Mataa going to the Pens
me too
overall I like the Pennies draft so far. hate losing Jordan Staal BUT got some good people back. our problems weren't at center anyhow. need defensive D and some "big body with skills" forwards.

on the isles side, you have to think cheap, they already have a mark streit, a 5 foot 10, 4th forward who cant clear his baby sister from the front of the net! however he is scheduled to make 3 mill this year, but is a 5.6 cap space hit! this is 1 way to get off the cap floor wth spending half as much.as for the ducks, i am wondering if they cleared funds and space on the blue line, expecting a defenseman in return for ryan? i wish snowed thought like that!
Love the move for the Isles. Puzzled that the Ducks would make the move.
The lion and the tiger may be more powerful, but the wolf doesn't perform in the circus.

TSN.ca says the Penguins traded D man Zbynek Michalek back to the Coyotes for a couple of "donuts". like a TSN poster said, "unless the home run final trade is made for the Pens, i dont understand how they could trade a shot blocking, defensive machine like Michalek"
AND rumors that his D partner Paul Martin may also be moved
I sure hope Ray Shero has some D men in his sights OR it's gonna be "Boom, Boom, Out Go the Lights" with the Penguins blue line

I guess moving Michalek probably means Shero and Danny Bylsma think that "big body" D man Simon Despres will be ready to step up next season and possably Alex Picard too.

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=403485 >>> The Philadelphia Flyers signed left-winger Scott Hartnell to a six-year contract extension worth US$28.5 million on Monday.
Scotty is THE "Heart and Soul" of the Flyers and a true team leader. I don't think $4.75 million per year average is an "overpay" at all. wish we had someone like him on my Penguins

The Nashville Predators nailed down another one of their core players Monday, signing Mike Fisher to a two-year contract extension worth $4.2 million per season.
