Josh Brown kicked a 34-yard field goal with 7:42 left and Steven Jackson rushed for more than 100 yards for the third straight game as the St. Louis Rams held on to defeat the host Cleveland Browns 13-12 on Sunday.

Cleveland had a chance to go ahead with 2:10 remaining, but botched a 22-yard field goal attempt. Brian Pontbriand's snap caromed off guard Alex Mack's leg but directly to holder Brad Maynard. Dawson, though, missed left after Maynard appeared to get the ball down in time.

Jackson finished with 128 yards and Sam Bradford was 15 of 25 for 155 yards with a touchdown and an interception as the Rams (2-7) won for the second time in three games.

Dawson kicked a season-high four field goals and Chris Ogbonnaya had a career-high 90 yards rushing for the Browns (3-6), who have lost four of their last five games.

Dawson’s fourth field goal – a 27-yarder – gave the Browns a 12-10 lead with 37 seconds left in the third quarter.

Brandon Lloyd caught a 7-yard touchdown pass – his second in four games with the Rams – to give St. Louis a 7-3 lead in the second quarter.

Cleveland was without its top two rushers – Peyton Hillis (hamstring) and Montario Hardesty (calf) – for the second straight game.
