Thanks to Aaron Rodgers and an opportunistic defense, Green Bay once again is TitleTown, USA.

Rodgers threw for three touchdown passes and the Packers capitalized on three turnovers to hold off the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 on Sunday night in Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

It was the fourth Super Bowl victory in franchise history and first in 14 years for Green Bay, which won the first two Super Bowls under legendary coach Vince Lombardi – for whom the championship trophy is named.

Rodgers threw two scoring passes to Greg Jennings and one to Jordy Nelson as the Packers became just the second No. 6 seed to win the Super Bowl and denied Pittsburgh its bid for a seventh world championship.

Green Bay turned three turnovers into 21 points, including a 37-yard interception return by Nick Collins that helped the Packers bolt to an 18-point lead in the first half.

The Steelers had one last chance, getting the ball back with 2:00 remaining and needing to go 87 yards for the winning touchdown, but their hopes for a third Super Bowl title in six years ended when Ben Roethlisberger overthrew Mike Wallace on fourth down.

Rodgers earned Most Valuable Player honors by finishing 24 of 39 for 304 yards and no interceptions. Nelson had nine catches for 140 yards and a score.

Roethlisberger wound up 25 of 40 for 263 yards with two touchdown passes and two interceptions.

The Packers carried a 21-10 lead into halftime – the fourth consecutive game they held a double-digit cushion at the intermission.

The Steelers showed their championship mettle, cutting what was once an 18-point deficit to 21-17 on their first possession of the second half when Rashard Mendenhall powered in from 8 yards out.

Green Bay had a dreadful third quarter, punting on all four possessions, committing critical penalties and watching James Jones drop what appeared to be a sure TD pass.

Just as the Packers appeared to be unraveling, their defense came through again as Clay Matthews forced a fumble by Mendenhall and Desmond Bishop recovered at Green Bay's 45.

Rodgers capitalized by hitting Nelson on a 38-yard crossing pattern to set up his second scoring pass to Jennings, an 8-yarder that made it 28-17 with 11:57 to play.

Pittsburgh answered right back on the ensuing possession as Roethisberger floated a 25-yard scoring pass to Wallace and Antwaan Randle El ran in the conversion to pull within 28-25 with 7:34 remaining.

Rodgers drove the Packers right back down the field and Mason Crosby booted a 23-yard field goal with 2:07 left to make it 31-25.

The Packers scored two touchdowns 24 seconds apart late in the first quarter to bolt to a 14-0 lead.

After Rodgers connected with Nelson on a 29-yard scoring pass, Collins picked off Roethlisberger on Pittsburgh's next play from scrimmage and brought it back 37 yards for a score.

Shaun Suisham's 33-yard field goal got the Steelers on the board early in the second quarter before Green Bay's defense forced another key turnover.

Jarrett Bush picked off Roethlisberger at midfielder and Rodgers needed just four plays to move the Packers 53 yards, connecting with Jennings on a 21-yard strike to make it 21-3 with 2:24 left in the half.

The Steelers answered with a seven-play, 77-yard scoring drive as Roethlisberger connected with Hines Ward three times, the last one covering the final 7 yards to make it 21-10 with 39 seconds to go.

Green Bay held off a Pittsburgh comeback despite the loss of cornerback Charles Woodson, who was knocked out of the game late in the first half with a collarbone injury.
