Stanford 45, Maryland 21: Remound Wright rushed for three touchdowns and Kevin Hogan threw for 189 yards and two scores as the Cardinal dominated the Terrapins in the Foster Farms Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Devon Cajuste caught two touchdown passes and Christian McCaffrey had 138 all-purpose yards for Stanford (8-5), which held Maryland to 222 total yards of offense and closed the season with three straight wins. Wright had 49 rushing yards and Austin Hooper added 71 receiving yards as the Cardinal set a school record for most points scored in a bowl game.

C.J. Brown was 15-of-27 for 205 yards with one interception and rushed for a score for Maryland (7-6), which was seeking its first bowl victory since 2010. Wes Brown rushed for a touchdown and William Likely returned a kickoff 100 yards for a score as the Terrapins were held to eight rushing yards and 12 first downs.

Stanford drove 75 yards on its opening possession and took the early lead on Wright’s 1-yard TD run. The Terrapins pulled even early in the second quarter on Brown’s 1-yard score before Stanford closed the quarter with 21 unanswered points and took a 28-7 lead into the half as Wright scored on TD runs of 1 and 3 yards and Cajuste caught an 8-yard TD pass.

Hogan completed 14-of-20 passes, including a 9-yard TD strike midway through the third quarter to Cajuste. Stanford coach David Shaw pulled many of his starters early in the fourth quarter after his team moved ahead 42-7 on fifth-year senior Ricky Seale’s first career touchdown, a 1-yard run that capped a nine-play, 66-yard drive.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Maryland WR Stefon Diggs, who missed the team’s final three regular-season games, had 10 receptions for 138 yards. … Stanford played without leading receiver Ty Montgomery, who suffered a sprained shoulder in the team’s Nov. 22 win over California. … Wright rushed for nine touchdowns in his last three games for Stanford, which was 7-of-13 on third-down conversions.
