No. 16 Louisville 34, South Florida 3: Teddy Bridgewater completed 25-of-29 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns as the visiting Cardinals rolled over the Bulls in American Athletic Conference play.

Bridgewater connected with wide receiver Damian Copeland, tight end Gerald Christian and running back Dominique Brown for scoring strikes, giving him 23 on the season. Brown also rushed for 125 yards and gained 61 more on six receptions as Louisville (7-1, 3-1 AAC) rebounded from its only loss - last week against Central Florida.

Steven Bench completed 4-of-12 passes for 68 yards after replacing Bulls starter Bobby Eveld, who left late in the first half with a left ankle injury and did not return. South Florida (2-5, 2-1) was held to 133 total yards and has not scored an offensive touchdown in the last three games, despite winning the first two, getting only a 50-yard field goal from Marvin Kloss in this one.

Louisville went 90 yards in nine plays for a score on the game’s opening drive, the final 20 on Bridgewater’s perfectly thrown pass to Copeland in the back of the end zone. After the teams traded field goals, Bridgewater beat the blitz and found Christian wide open for a 69-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter.

John Wallace’s second 19-yard field goal pushed the lead to 20-3 with 4:55 left in the third quarter on the 14th play of the drive. South Florida moved into the red zone late in the third, but fumbled and Bridgewater capped another 14-play drive with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Brown with 10:53 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bridgewater completed at least one pass to 11 different receivers. The junior from Miami has connected with nine or more receivers in a game 20 times in his career. … South Florida RB Marcus Shaw, who leads the team in rushing, missed his second straight game with a hamstring injury. … Louisville CB Charles Gaines, who scored on a 93-yard kickoff return earlier this season, took an interception back 70 yards for a score in the fourth quarter.
