Arizona 56, Colorado 31: Sophomore running back Ka'Deem Carey set a Pac-12 record with 366 yards and tied school and conference marks with five touchdowns as the host Wildcats prevailed without injured starting quarterback Matt Scott.

Carey scored on runs of 10, 13, 30, 8 and 3 yards and also had runs of 71, 64 and 46 yards among his 25 carries. He added 34 receiving yards to finish with 400 total as Arizona accumulated 574 yards against the worst defense in the country in points allowed at 47.2 per game.

B.J. Denker was 12-of-14 for 136 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another score in his first career start. Both touchdown passes went to Dan Buckner during a 28-0 spurt spanning halftime which propelled Arizona (6-4, 3-4 Pac-12) to a 49-17 lead.

Sophomore quarterback Nick Hirschman was 12-of-13 for 123 yards and an interception in his first career start before leaving with an injury for Colorado (1-9, 1-6), which has lost six straight and has been outscored 317-82 during that span. Freshman running back Christian Powell had 137 yards and two touchdowns.

Colorado led 10-7 after one quarter before Carey's second and third touchdowns early in the second quarter put Arizona ahead for good. The Buffaloes closed to within 49-31 with 10:22 left after Connor Wood's 71-yard touchdown pass to Scott Fernandez - his first career reception - but Carey answered 2:21 later with his final score.

The previous Pac-12 record for rushing yards in a game was 357 by Washington State's Rueben Mayes in 1984. ... Carey's rushing yards were the most ever given up by Colorado. ... Scott suffered a concussion in last week's 66-10 loss to UCLA. ... Arizona K John Bonano was 8-for-8 on extra points and set a school record with 69 straight conversions.
