Duke 34, Wake Forest 27
: Brandon Connette had two rushing touchdowns and backup quarterback Anthony Boone had one of his own to break a fourth-quarter tie as the visiting Blue Devils defeated the Demon Deacons for the first time since 1999.

Boone entered late in the third quarter after starter Sean Renfree suffered a right arm injury on a play that resulted in a Wake Forest interception. Renfree was 22-for-28 for 204 yards before the injury for Duke (4-1, 1-0 ACC), which had lost 12 straight to its in-state rival.

Tanner Price completed 19 of 38 passes for 230 yards and two TDs for the hosts, who lost star wide receiver Michael Campanaro to a broken hand late in the first half. Deandre Martin had a rushing touchdown and fullback Tommy Bohanon two receiving scores as Wake Forest (3-2, 1-2) fell for the first time in four home games this season.

The Blue Devils took a 10-7 lead on Connette's first TD late in the first quarter and they were up 20-10 after the sophomore scored from four yards out with 9:12 left in the third. Price found Bohanon for a 34-yard score and the Demon Deacons turned Renfree's interception into a field goal to tie it at 20-20 entering the fourth.

Boone's 4-yard score came two plays after a Price fumble deep in Wake Forest territory. An interception by Duke linebacker C.J. France midway through the fourth, the fourth turnover by the Demon Deacons, set up Jela Duncan's 17-yard TD run with 2:50 left that made it 34-20. After Bohanon's second TD of the game with 52 seconds left, a Wake Forest onside kick failed.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Blue Devils wide receiver Conner Vernon had five catches, tying former Clemson standout Aaron Kelly for the all-time ACC lead with 232 for his career. ... Renfree entered ranked second in the ACC with a 70.7 percent completion rate. ... Bohanon's first touchdown finished a 98-yard drive, tied for the third-longest in Wake Forest history.
