Northwestern 38, South Dakota 7: Northwestern running back Venric Mark ran through visiting South Dakota for 117 yards and three touchdowns en route to a Wildcats rout.
Treyvon Green (33 yards) and Tyris Jones (five yards) added rushing scores for Northwestern (4-0). Quarterbacks Trevor Siemian and Kain Colter combined to go 11-of-14 for 118 yards.
The Coyotes (1-2) finally got on the board after 35 straight Wildcat points to begin the game when quarterback Josh Vander Maten carried the ball in from the Northwestern 4-yard line with four minutes remaining in the third quarter.
Wildcats wide receiver Tony Jones caught four passes for 63 yards as Northwestern completed a perfect non-conference slate.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Mark's performance gives Northwestern a 100-yard rusher in three straight games for the first time since 2007. … South Dakota's third-quarter score matched the number of touchdowns (one) that the Coyotes had scored in all four of their previous meetings against Northwestern.
