Georgia Tech 56, Virginia 20: Tevin Washington ran for 93 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 125 yards and another score as Georgia Tech evened up its conference record by routing visiting Virginia.

The Yellow Jackets (2-1, 1-1 ACC) scored on their first four possessions and their spread option attack proved far too much for the Cavaliers (2-1, 0-1 ACC) to handle.

Orwin Smith added 137 rushing yards and a touchdown for Georgia Tech.

Michael Rocco threw for 143 yards and a touchdown for Virginia but was also intercepted twice. Rocco had thrown for at least 200 yards in five straight games coming in. The Cavaliers defense, which had limited its first two opponents to an average of 74.5 rushing yards, gave up a whopping 461 yards on the ground and seven rushing touchdowns to the Yellow Jackets.

Everyone had a hand in the blowout for Tech, with 10 players getting at least one carry and six catching at least one pass.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Georgia Tech evened up the all-time series 17-17-1 and the home team has now won six of the last eight... Washington now ranks sixth all-time in rushing yards by an ACC quarterback, surpassing Steve Fuller and Joe Hamilton. ... The Yellow Jackets are now 14-5 in the months of August and September under head coach Paul Johnson.
