Chase Rettig connected with tight end Chris Pantale for two touchdown passes and Boston College intercepted four passes in the second half to earn a 24-17 victory over host Miami on Friday.

Miami (6-6, 3-5 ACC) took only seven plays combined to score the first two times it had the ball. But the Eagles (4-8, 3-5 ACC) shut out the Hurricanes on the next 10 drives and All-American linebacker Luke Kuechly brought back an interception 45 yards for a score.

Rettig, who was 13-of-17 for 196 yards, hit Pantale for a 32-yard score just 2:52 into the second half to cap a six-play, 80-yard drive, giving Boston College a 17-14 lead.

It was the season finale for Miami, which announced Sunday it will not accept a bowl bid due to impending NCAA sanctions.

Quarterback Jacory Harris, who threw all four interceptions, registered his 70th career touchdown pass and Lamar Miller ran 79 yards for another as Miami took a 14-7 lead in the first quarter. Miller rushed for 114 yards and finished the season with 1,272 – the third most in a single season by a Miami running back.

Kuechly had nine tackles, snapping his streak of games with double-digit tackles at 33. But the junior became the school’s all-time career leader with 532.
