Jon Hays threw two touchdown passes, John White rushed for two scores and Utah won its second straight Pac-12 game with a resounding 34-21 victory over host Arizona on Saturday.

Hays tossed scoring passes of 65 yards to DeVonte Christopher and 44 yards to Reggie Dunn as the Utes (5-4, 2-4 Pac-12 South) furthered the misery of Arizona (2-7, 1-6), which has lost seven of its last eight games.

White scored on runs of 18 and 11 yards, the latter giving Utah a 34-14 lead with 2:50 remaining. White rushed for 109 yards on 27 carries as the Utes improved to 5-0 when he tops the 100-yard mark.

White’s first touchdown run gave the Utes a 17-0 lead three-plus minutes into the second quarter. Dunn’s touchdown reception put Utah ahead 27-7 early in the second half.

Wildcats quarterback Nick Foles teamed up with David Douglas on touchdown passes of 23 and 42 yards. The second score pulled Arizona within 27-14 with 5:02 left in the third quarter.

Foles passed for 326 yards and Douglas had 10 receptions for 156 yards. Daniel Jenkins scored on a 29-yard run with 23 seconds remaining.

The two-touchdown game was the second in a row for the improving Hays, who passed for 199 yards. The junior quarterback was intercepted three times in two of his first three starts after replacing injured Jordan Wynn, but hasn’t thrown any during Utah’s back-to-back victories.

Arizona is 1-2 under interim coach Tim Kish, who replaced fired Mike Stoops six games into the season.
