E.J. Manuel passed for a touchdown and ran for another and visiting Florida State rolled to its fourth straight victory, 38-7 over Boston College on Thursday night.

Devonta Freeman had two touchdown runs for Florida State (6-3, 4-2 ACC). The Seminoles have outscored opponents 154-39 during their winning streak, which has coincided with Manuel's return from a sprained shoulder.

Boston College (2-7, 1-5 ACC), meanwhile, will miss postseason play for the first time in 13 seasons. Eagles’ star linebacker Luke Kuechly amassed 20 tackles – his 31st straight game in double digits tackles.

The game featured a mismatch between the ACC’s best defense and its worst offense, and the result wasn’t pretty for the Eagles. The Seminoles led 28-0 before Boston College picked up a first down.

The Eagles finally moved the chains with just under five minutes left in the half, as backup quarterback Josh Bordner ran 25 yards on his first snap. But the promising drive ended eight plays later at the Seminoles’ 1-yard line when Florida State pounced on a botched handoff.

It was that kind of night for Boston College.

On the third possession of the game, Rolandan Finch, who ran for 243 yards in last week's win over Maryland, fumbled in the shadow of his own end zone and Florida State linebacker Telvin Smith recovered at the 2-yard line. Two plays later, Manuel hit Bert Reed in the back of the end zone for an 8-yard touchdown
