Recap: Boise State 57, Fresno State 7
Oct 7, 2011
Quarterback Kellen Moore bounced back from a rare off game with a vintage performance, and No. 6 Boise State ripped host Fresno State 57-7 on Friday.
Moore threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns in the first half as the Broncos opened up a 37-0 lead. He sandwiched scoring passes around Mitch Burroughs’ 25-yard scoring run, which came on an end-around that made the Bulldogs look foolish.
Boise (5-0) won last year's meeting 51-0, has scored at least 50 points in the last four matchups and hasn’t lost to Fresno State since 2005. Fresno (2-4) is still part of the WAC, but will join Boise in the Mountain West next season.
Moore passed for a career-low 142 yards last week, getting intercepted twice. The senior was happy to welcome back wideout Geraldo Boldewijn, who missed the first four games due to eligibility questions. Boldewijn caught scoring throws of 18 and 4 yards in the first half.
Fresno ended the shutout early in the fourth when Devon Wylie returned a punt 79 yards for a touchdown.
