Recap: Arizona State 48, UC Davis 14

Cameron Marshall rushed for two touchdowns in the first quarter as Arizona State cruised to a 48-14 victory over UC Davis on Thursday in Tempe, Ariz.

The Sun Devils wasted little time against the Aggies from the Great West Conference - they found the end zone on their first four drives, with each taking less than 80 seconds.

Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler, beginning his first season as a full-time starter, completed 19-of-26 passes for 262 yards and two touchdown passes to Aaron Pflugrad.

The Sun Devils, who led 28-0 at halftime, had 517 total yards compared to 243 for UC Davis, which was outgained on the ground 217-88. Linebacker Vontaze Burfict had three of the Sun Devils’ four sacks.

Jamal Miles returned the second-half kickoff 98 yards for the Sun Devils’ fourth kickoff return for a touchdown in their last 11 games.

UC Davis, which last faced Arizona State in 1940, rushed for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including Nick Aprile’s 48-yard run and Josh Reese’s 1-yard plunge with 6:28 remaining.
