Virginia Tech is streaking to the Orange Bowl.

Tyrod Taylor threw three touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Hokies to a 44-33 victory over Florida State in the ACC championship game Saturday at Atlanta.

After two losses to open the season, the No. 11 Hokies (11-2), 9-0) have won 11 straight. The Hokies have won the championship three of the last four years to clearly establish themselves as the dominant team in the conference.

Florida State, which beat Virginia Tech in the initial title game in 2005 and upset the Hokies two years ago, competed, but the Hokies just had too much firepower. Led by Taylor, the Hokies carved up the Seminoles in the air and on the ground with 441 total yards. Virginia Tech converted on 13 of 18 third down conversions. Taylor completed 18 of 28 passes for 263 yards.

The Hokies' defense also stepped up, forcing two turnovers and holding the Seminoles to 57 rushing yards on 28 carries.

Florida State (9-4, 6-3) trailed 21-17 at halftime, but Taylor threw his second and third touchdowns in third quarter to give the Hokies a 35-17 lead and Florida State never seriously challenged again.

Virginia Tech will likely play Stanford or Big East Champion Connecticut in Miami on Jan. 3.
