Recap: South Forida 23, Miami 20 OT

Demetris Murray scored on a one-yard touchdown run in overtime to lead South Florida past Miami, 23-20.

Tied at the end of regulation at 17-17, Matt Bosher's 38-yard field goal gave the Hurricanes a 20-17 lead. But the Bulls, led by freshman quarterback Bobby Ewald, drove down to the one. Murray then scored his second touchdown of the game and gave the Bulls the upset win. Filling in for BJ Daniels. who left the game in the third quarter with a quad injury, Ewald completed 8 of 15 passes for 120 yards.

Miami quarterback Jacory Harris came of the bench in the third quarter and led the Hurricanes to two touchdowns and a field goal after the Canes had been shut out in the first half. Harris had been out for the last two games as a result of a concussion. He replaced freshman Stephen Morris in the second half and completed 11 of 18 passes for 110 yards.

The first half was an offensive struggle with the two teams combining for 11 punts and converting only five of 19 third downs.

The Bulls scored on their first possession on Murray's eight-yard run to give USF a 10-0 lead.

Harris then led the Canes on their first score drive, capped off by an 8-yard touchdown run by tailback Lamar Miller, which cut the USF lead to 10-7.

The Hurricanes took the lead when Storm Johnson electrified the crowd with a 71-yard run and a 14-10 Miami lead early in the fourth quarter.

Matt Bosher's 18-yard field goal increased the Canes lead to 17-10 with 8:44 left in the game. Eveld then led the Bulls on an 80-yard drive and scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak to tie the game at 17-17.
