Recap: Kentucky 38, Vanderbilt 20

Randall Cobb accounted for 233 total yards and two touchdowns, and Kentucky scored 28 consecutive points in the second half to pull away from Vanderbilt for a 38-20 home win Saturday.

Cobb rushed for 170 yards, including scoring runs of 5 and 73 yards, added three receptions for 56 yards and competed a pass for seven yards.

Derrick Locke, Kentucky's leading rusher, added 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns in his first game back after missing four consecutive games with a shoulder stinger.

Vanderbilt (2-8, 1-6 SEC) led 13-10 at halftime, but the Wildcats held the Commodores scoreless in the second half until backup quarterback Jared Funk's 4-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Matthews with 2:33 left.

Kentucky's Mike Hartline completed 15-of-23 passes for 232 yards and threw a 55-yard touchdown to Chris Matthews, who caught five passes for 97 yards.

Kennard Reeves rushed for 105 yards on 19 carries for Vanderbilt.

Kentucky (6-5, 2-5 SEC) became bowl-eligible with a win over Vanderbilt for the second consecutive year. The Wildcats are bowl-eligible for a school-record fifth consecutive season.
