Recap: Wisconsin 34, Purdue 13

Montee Ball rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns and Scott Tolzien threw for a score as No. 7 Wisconsin kept its Big Ten championship hopes alive with a 34-13 victory over Purdue on Saturday.

Antonio Fenelus returned an interception for a touchdown and the Badgers (8-1, 4-1 Big Ten) forced four turnovers in their fourth straight win.

Purdue (4-5, 2-3) actually had the lead at the half. The Boilermakers took an early 7-0 edge when Sean Robinson hit Antavian Edison with a 23-yard pass at the end of the first quarter. Carson Wiggs added a 37-yard field goal with 1:05 left in the half to going into the break up, 10-6.

Culmer St. Jean intercepted Robinson on the first drive of the third quarter and the Badgers made the most of the turnover, when Tolzien hit Jared Abbrederis with a 7-yard touchdown pass to give Wisconsin its first lead of the game, 13-10. Ball broke out for a 31-yard touchdown run five minutes later to push it to 20-10.

Purdue got a field goal early in the fourth but Ball broke for another touchdown run and Fenelus returned an interception 36 yards for another score to make it 34-13.
