Austen Arnaud threw two touchdown passes and Alexander Robinson ran for two more as the visiting Iowa State Cyclones held on for its first win ever against Texas, 28-21, on Saturday afternoon.

Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert had four costly turnovers for the No. 22 Longhorns (4-3, 2-2 Big 12), who dropped consecutive home games for the first time since 1997.

Gilbert threw three interceptions inside Iowa State territory and his fumble set up Robinson's 20-yard touchdown run, which gave the Cyclones (4-4, 2-2 Big 12) a 28-6 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Gilbert and the Longhorns didn’t quit. Gilbert threw touchdown passes on two of his next three drives and added a 2-point conversion with a run to cut the deficit to 28-21. However, he was sacked and threw three incomplete passes on Texas’ last possession after the Longhorns took over on their 10 with 61 seconds left.

Gilbert finished 34-of-57 for 259 yards.

Arnaud completed 11-of-23 passes for 137 yards and Robinson ran for 119 yards on 24 carries for the Cyclones, who had lost their two previous games to Utah and Oklahoma by a combined 120-27.
