Recap: Auburn 37, Kentucky 34

Cam Newton ran for 197 yards and four touchdowns and led Auburn on an 18-play drive to set up Wes Byrum's game-winning 24-yard field goal, and the No. 8 Tigers escaped with a 37-34 road win at Kentucky on Saturday.

Auburn (6-0, 3-0 SEC) led by 17 on two occasions in the first half and held a 31-17 halftime lead, but the Wildcats (3-3, 0-3 SEC) rallied to tie it with plenty of help from versatile Randall Cobb.

Cobb rushed for two touchdowns, caught a touchdown pass and passed for another score. He finished with 48 rushing yards on 11 carries and 68 receiving yards on seven catches.

Newton carried 28 times, scoring on runs of 16, 8, 5 and 3 yards. He completed 13 of 21 passes for 211 yards with one interception.

Darvin Adams caught five passes for 101 yards for the Tigers.

Auburn has won 60 consecutive games when scoring 30 or more points, a streak that dates back to 1996. The Tigers have scored 30 or more in 11 of the last 17 meetings with Kentucky.
