San Francisco Giants vs Baltimore Orioles Box Score on Jun 02, 2019

Brandon Crawford homered twice, and Evan Longoria homered and drove in three runs as the visiting San Francisco Giants defeated the Baltimore Orioles 8-1 Sunday afternoon.

Crawford hit a pair of solo home runs to help the Giants win for the second time in the three-game series. He went 2-for-4 on the day.

Longoria hit a game-tying solo homer and later added a two-run double that gave the Giants a three-run lead and broke the game open. He finished 3-for-5.

Giants starter Jeff Samardzija (3-4) had lost his past three starts but rebounded to give the team six strong innings. The right-hander allowed one run on three hits while striking out six and not allowing a walk. He retired 12 in a row at one point, as well as 16 of the final 17 batters he faced.

The veteran's last start in Baltimore came in 2015, the day that fans were not allowed in to see the game because of a public uprising in the city. He was the losing pitcher for the Chicago White Sox.

Baltimore starter Gabriel Ynoa (0-2) began with three shutout innings but struggled in the next two. The right-hander, making his second start, gave up four runs (two earned) on five hits in five innings.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, who missed Saturday's game to attend his stepdaughter's high school graduation in Illinois, was back for this contest.

The Orioles took a 1-0 lead in the first when Trey Mancini lined a solo homer to right-center.

Longoria tied it with his solo homer in the fourth, and Kevin Pillar gave the Giants a 2-1 lead later in the inning on an RBI double.

Longoria made it 4-1 in the fifth with a two-out ground-rule double to left-center that put San Francisco in command. Crawford added a solo homer off Branden Kline in the sixth.

Pablo Sandoval hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh for a 6-1 lead. Crawford then hit a second solo homer in the eighth, this time off Dan Straily to right-center, and Joe Panik drove in another run that inning with a single.
