Ryan Zimmerman hit a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of ninth inning off Seranthony Dominguez to give the Washington Nationals an 8-7 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night at Nationals Park.

With Philadelphia up 7-6, Dominguez (1-4) retired the first two batters of the ninth before Juan Soto doubled. Zimmerman then homered to right-center -- the original call of a double on the field was overturned -- which let Washington walk off with its second straight win of this series.

Matt Grace (1-1) retired the last batter in the top of the ninth and earned the victory.

The Phillies homered three times in a game in which they squandered an early 3-0 lead.

Both teams stayed busy on offense in this slugfest, which made things rough for the two starters, Stephen Strasburg of Washington and the Phillies' Zach Eflin.

Strasburg lasted four innings but was hit hard, giving up five runs on seven hits, including two homers, in his return from the disabled list. He walked one and struck out five.

Eflin got through just 3 1/3 innings. He allowed five runs (four earned) on 10 hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

Justin Bour gave the Phillies a 1-0 advantage with an RBI double in the first, and Maikel Franco made it 3-0 with a two-run homer later in the inning.

Anthony Rendon (RBI double) answered for Washington in the first before Bour's solo homer stretched the lead to 4-1 in the third. The Nationals then tied it with a three-run rally in the bottom half.

Bryce Harper started things with an RBI double, and Soto and Matt Wieters later added RBI singles. The Phillies went back up 5-4 in the fourth on a Roman Quinn single.

Washington tied it again in the bottom of the fourth on a throwing error. Carlos Santana broke the tie in the sixth with a pinch-hit, run-scoring double for the Phillies.

Cesar Hernandez homered off Justin Miller in the seventh, stretching the lead to 7-5 with his solo shot. Andrew Stevenson made it 7-6 in the eighth with a pinch-hit sacrifice fly. The Phillies loaded the bases in the ninth but couldn't score, which set up the dramatics in the bottom of the inning.
