Philadelphia Phillies vs Toronto Blue Jays Box Score on Aug 26, 2018

Rhys Hoskins, Carlos Santana, Maikel Franco and Wilson Ramos hit home runs to help the visiting Philadelphia Phillies avoid a three-game sweep by defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 8-3 Sunday afternoon.

Ramos was 4-for-5 and had three RBIs as the Phillies won for only the second time in their past eight games.

Kendrys Morales extended his homer streak to a club-record seven games when he hit a two-run blast for the Blue Jays, who won the season series over the Phillies 4-2.

Morales has hit eight home runs during the streak. He also has a 10-game hitting streak.

Randal Grichuk hit his 18th homer of the season for Toronto, a solo shot against Tommy Hunter in the eighth.

Phillies starter Vince Velasquez (9-9) allowed two runs, three hits and three walks while striking out six in five innings.

Blue Jays starter Marco Estrada (7-10) gave up five runs and three home runs among seven hits in two-plus innings. He walked four and fanned two.

Hoskins hit his 26th homer of the season and Santana followed with his 19th in the first inning as the Phillies took a 2-0 lead. It was the third time this season that the Phillies hit back-to-back homers.

The Phillies added a run in the second when Scott Kingery and Cesar Hernandez walked before Ramos hit a two-out, RBI double.

Asdrubal Cabrera doubled and Franco hit his 22nd homer of the season in the top of the third to bump the lead to 5-0. After Odubel Herrera walked, Justin Shafer replaced Estrada.

In the bottom of the third, Billy McKinney doubled, and Morales hit his 21st homer of the season.

Shafer allowed a walk in three hitless innings before being replaced in the top of the sixth by Tim Mayza, who pitched around a single and a walk.

Philadelphia's Luis Garcia replaced Velasquez in the bottom of the sixth and overcame two singles in his lone inning.

Toronto's Jake Petricka pitched the seventh and got around two singles.

Phillies reliever Hector Neris allowed a double to McKinney in the bottom of the seventh but struck out three.

The Phillies scored three runs against Tyler Clippard in the top of the eighth. Hernandez walked, Hoskins singled, Santana hit a sacrifice fly, and Ramos hit his 15th homer of the season to increase the lead to 8-2. Joe Biagini replaced Clippard to get the final two outs of the eighth and pitch the ninth.

Seranthony Dominguez pitched a perfect bottom of the ninth for the Phillies.
