Pillar hit his fifth homer of the season with one out in the bottom of the seventh.

The Yankees added three in the eighth on the sixth homer of the season by Hicks.

Giancarlo Stanton led off the inning with a single against reliever Joe Biagini, who retired the next two batters before being replaced by Aaron Loup. Loup walked Gregorius and gave up the homer to Hicks.

David Robertson pitched a perfect eighth for New York, and Chasen Shreve also was perfect in the ninth.
