John Gibson has been a stud for the Ducks this season with a 2.26 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. Anaheim has needed it, as it sits last in the NHL is goal scoring.

We've got a Monday night packed with hockey action with 10 games on the NHL betting board, beginning with yet another battle between the Blues and Coyotes at 4 p.m. ET and ending with a matchup between West Coast rivals Anaheim and San Jose at 10:30 p.m.

We break down the NHL odds for those two games, as well as a North Division duel between Calgary and Vancouver, as we bring you our best free picks and predictions for Monday, February 15.

NHL picks for today

St. Louis Blues vs Arizona Coyotes

It might not be the Stanley Cup playoffs but this matchup sure seems like it with the Blues and Coyotes set to play against each other for the seventh game in a row. They have split the first six games against each other, with the Blues winning the most recent meeting 5-4 in overtime on Saturday.

That said, as tight as this series has been, the Blues have looked better against other teams across the league going 6-2-1, while the Coyotes are 3-4-1 against opponents not from St. Louis.

The Blues are the better team up front, ranking seventh in the league with 3.4 goals per game, and they are also strong between the pipes with Jordan Binnington projected to get the start this afternoon.

Binnington is 7-2-2 with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage this season. He also has a history of excelling against the Coyotes, going 4-2-2 with a 1.74 GAA and a .927 SV% in eight games against Arizona going back to the 2018-19 season.

The Coyotes have strong goaltending but still rank just 17th in the league in goals allowed per game (2.92), due to a defense that surrenders the 12th most high-danger chances per 60 minutes. They've also been awful at generating scoring chances of their own, ranking just 23rd with 2.71 goals per game. Grab the Blues at the solid price of -125.

PREDICTION: St. Louis (-125)

Calgary Flames vs Vancouver Canucks

These teams faced off on Saturday night with the Canucks winning 3-1. That said, there's plenty of reasons to think the Flames will bounce back in this one.

Vancouver's defense played very well on Saturday, limiting Calgary to just 19 shots on net, while the Canucks offense generated plenty of scoring chances, peppering former Vancouver goalie Jacob Markstrom with 45 shots.

Markstrom stood on his head to keep Calgary in that game and he has been terrific all year for his new club, going 7-4-1 with a 2.33 GAA and a save percentage of .925. Markstrom's track record suggests that his performance on Saturday was no fluke...but the same can't be said for the play of the Canucks.

On the season, Vancouver allows the second-most shots in the league and the third-most high-danger chances per 60 minutes. Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko has also struggled, going 4-6 with a 3.46 GAA and a .899 SV%.

Expect the Canucks to regress back to their usual poor defense and goaltending tonight and back the Flames on the moneyline.

PREDICTION: Calgary (-130)

Anaheim Ducks vs San Jose Sharks

The Ducks are coming into this game off three days of rest after defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 1-0 on Thursday night. The Sharks are also fresh off a game against the Knights, a 3-1 loss on Saturday, which gave them back-to-back losses following a 6-2 defeat to the Kings on Thursday.

Both teams have been brutal on the offensive end of the ice, with San Jose ranking 26th in the NHL with 2.38 goals per game and Anaheim ranking dead-last with just 1.93 gpg.

However, the Ducks have been far better on the other end of the ice. John Gibson has been a brick wall in nets, posting a 2.26 GAA with a .923 save percentage across 12 starts. On the other hand, San Jose netminder Martin Jones has been a sieve with a 3.96 GAA and a save percentage of .867 in nine starts.

Ride the hot goaltender in this one and back the Ducks.

PREDICTION: Anaheim (-105)
