Against the spread (ATS) pick

Miami is coming off a close 80-76 overtime loss to Virginia Tech, a tough defeat following a win against Duke. That victory against the Blue Devils is the Hurricanes' only win in their last six games, which includes a January 24 matchup against Notre Dame that they lost at 73-59 at home.

The Fighting Irish are coming off their own win against Duke (the Blue Devils really have become the ACC punching bag this season) and are 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS in their previous four games.

Both schools have been slightly below average on defense, with the Hurricanes allowing opponents to shoot 43.4 percent from the field and the Irish allowing an opponent field goal percentage of 44.2, but the big difference between those teams has come on the offensive end of the floor. Notre Dame is 32nd in the country in offensive efficiency, averaging 107.7 points per 100 possessions, while the Hurricanes rank outside the Top 250 with 94.4 points per 100 possessions.

Miami has been even worse on the road, with that number dropping to 91.7, and homecourt advantage could be the difference when betting this line. The Hurricanes have an average scoring margin of minus-13.2 points per game on the road and have lost each of their last four road contests by at least 12 points.

Injuries have also piled up for Miami, which currently has two starters – Chris Lykes and Earl Timberlake – on the sidelines, joining Sam Waardenburg and Rodney Miller Jr., who were starters last season. Back the Irish.

PREDICTION: Notre Dame -7 (-110)

Over/Under pick

Both schools have cashed the Over in each of their last two games but prior to that, each team had gone 4-0 to the Under in their previous four contests.

Miami's scoring struggles in away games have resulted in the Hurricanes averaging just 62.3 ppg on the road and going 4-1 to the Under in their last five away games. Meanwhile, the Irish are 4-1 to the Under at home against conference foes this season.

Don't expect either team to get many second chances either, with Notre Dame ranking just 325th in the country with 5.7 offensive rebounds per game and Miami averaging 5.5 offensive rebounds per game over its last four contests.

Both teams also play at a very slow tempo: Miami ranks outside the Top 200 in possessions per game and Notre Dame is 318th. Back the Under.

PREDICTION: Under 140.5 (-110)
