Barrett signs with the Sharks for two seasons. Their backrow will be mobile and skillful with Gallen, Bird and Tupou, but who will play half for them with Kimmorley moving on?

I've always thought Barrett's best football was outside Johns in Origin, when he could play to his strengths as a ball runner instead of being the focal point in attack.

Just look at the Origin results this century. NSW record with Johns and without.

One thing's for sure, Origin is definitely not fair to the better teams.  The Storm get an automatic two banks down the drain against otherwise beatable teams because they have to field a jersey flegg team come Origin time.

Ouch.

OK, I am going to stop sounding like Bellamy....

Going to go for a bit of value here, as I can't see them winning this by 9. If the Dragons have their heads switched on they should win this easily, although the weather in the 'gong is a bit of a concern. If the Dragons were watching the Broncs / Eels game last week it will be bombs away - at Robinson's wing.

Unlike today I may have to keep the batteries in my cell charged to catch the news first. Hopefully the books don't suspend betting between now and then.

I may take the tea and toast now anyway, because if he plays they win comfortably, if he's out I'll hope for the middle

Definite shocker Aussie Battler.  How did the Warriors lose at home to the Bunnies?  After starting off 14-0 yet?  Wow....

Let's get 'em back though!  Still a full weekend to go and lots of great opportunities await!

Canterbury have looked devoid of ideas in attack without SBW, and if they defend like they did against Melbourne, the free flowing Knights should have too many points in them.
 
Matt Hilder is back for the Knights, and his starch in defence is as important IMO, if less spoken about, then Gidley's absence.
 
Newcastle have historically struggled against the Dogs in Sydney, and Melbourne didn't do us any favours last week. But if Newcastle can control the ball (much better than the dribble they dished up last week), they can win the middle and go along way towards winning the game.
 
They CANNOT afford to drop this one.
