not proud to say in the least but i can only golf once a week, 9 months a year, and its my first serious try to get better golfing year, outside of shotgun and best ball, few times out with my father golf.
my only problem is off the tee with the driver, right handed and a slice, sometimes its bad...most of the time i work with it, aim way left instead of correcting cause i seem to lose power with a diff handposition grip or alter swing from a more naturalswing. it seems my practice swing always seems more comfortable.
question is, how do you guys you drive 220+ keep your thumbs. i hold mine back hand thumb 2 oclock, front hand thumb for power at 12 noon, but am trying to hold the front hand thumb at 11 oclock.
my fairway woods and irons all go strait, just my driver problem. is a 460cc new driver, with a slice like in cadyshack

If your scoring in the mid nineties, use the three wood if it goes straight, your scorign will probably improve. Take a lesson or two with the driver, but for now three wood wont hurt you.
From reading you are probably just swining too hard with the driver. No real reason why your fairway metals go straight and the driver goes right. May want to play the ball alittle farther forward. If your body is ahead of the hands then the club would come thruogh more open. For a while i used to play the ball forward of my left foot, which was extreme but worked until i tighten up the swing.
Kat s right draw driver could help. I play with a guy who could not hit a draw if his life depended on it, but hhe plays left and uses a draw driver to keep it in the fairway. He a solid 10 11 hanicap.
