Spurs will ROLLLLL in this game. The CROWD, The emotion, the desperateness. With their backs to the wall spurs will scratch and claw their way back in this series with an ALL-OUT effort tonight. Hornets will play well for a while, but won't be able to match intensity all game. Hornets fade late in third and aren't a factor in the fourth. i am thinking of going with SA tonight... but it's hard to ignore the fact that NO has beaten SA 3 straight times by an average of over 20 points... that is domination...

Even if N.O. is close late, the last second free throws, plus giving up. That being said 7 is a lot of points to be giving to a team that has looked dominant in the early part of this series. SA has a habit of winning games by small margins and that plus 7 could loom large when all is said and done. Nevertheless, the mavs beat the horny's in game 3 by 9 and if they can do it, so can the spurs. Also I think vegas made it seven to scare a lot of people off the spurs and balance money out on the horny's and as such i have to stick with the smart play and that is the defending champs in their first game at home in this series, where game 3 home teams tend to dominate SU and ATS. I like the defensive intensity to be there early in the game before the half time adjustments kick in and scoring happens a little more freely, so i'll be on the first half under as well here.

Yes - I do believe that home court advantage can have that big an effect, especially on a young team - like the Atlanta Hawks for instance . . . .
I think that's supported by the stat's W8lifter listed there, especially their 1-5 ATS on the road as a 5 - 10 point underdog. I mean, how else do you explain that really?
Ernie Johnson said that even Chris Paul said it himself: "there's something about being your own building . . . " something to that effect - I can't recall the quote specifically, but they definately feed off that home crowd there.
And I like Bukowski's take that this young Hornet team won't be ready for this game like the veteran Spurs will. This is a high pressure game and it's kind of a new experience for these Hornets.

They may have gotten their asses whipped in the big Easy but these guys are still the champs, at home, in what's essentially a must-win game.
