Stylistic, that switch was a temporary move. Also, look how many fouls in the inside the Hornets made, that was perhaps their season high as far as fouls in the paint are concerned. Don't expect the refs to be that generous to the Mavericks team tonight.
Avery is known for complacent coaching, and now he puts in Terry which was the only logical choice since Kidd obviously cannot run with CP3, and he deserves all the props?
Not like Terry shouldn't have been the starter ever since Kidd came anyway. Look how Scott reacts tonight. Paul will get to high screens again, he will penetrate the lane and there won't be Terry there to stop him, as Scott has a few men on the mission there as far as offense is concerned.
Not many realize that Scott has been to the NBA finals as well, it wasn't just Avery.
The Mavs simply do not deserve to be laying 5 here. Look at game 1 and two, the Hornets were at -4 and -3,5 and now due to the fact it's a must win position for them they are laying 5?
Line movements are very, very tricky. Also, sites with public % are misleading. I am definitely not perfect, I'm not some cocky capper who's telling you he can hit all his wagers. I can't. And I'm a numbers person as well (take a look at the spreads as well) but I'm also a situational capper, love to project how the games will go.
The public, since you like talking about the public a lot, always remembers the last game played. They love little perfect trends there. So the Hornets blew them out twice at home, then Dallas responded, now they'll do it again, right?
I highly doubt so. They can win. I'm not saying that. But they will not lead by DD throughout the match. Look for the Hornets to adjust as well. This is a young, scrappy team, very well coached. Scott is the man with a plan, he didn't turn a 20-62 team into a 56-26 one by not adjusting his game.
So he put Terry on CP3, so what. Paul comes out huge tonight and dishes out another 15 assists. West and Stojakovic won't shoot like they did last game. The Hornets have nothing to lose in this one, if it's 2:2, fine, they still have their home court.
But they have a shot. The Mavs are a team on a decline, last year they were championship material now they're barely hanging and need adjustments not to get blown out out of their own building to a young team that is making its first playoff appearance since Anthony Mason played basketball.
Anyways, I wish you luck tonight, I still think you're a very solid capper with good instincts, I just think that in this particular case, you should have stuck with your initial one.
Best of luck.
