ODOM = SIZE AND STRENGTH... oh you have to be kidding me? Garrett is taller and has a  longer wing span, and they are both bare bones skinny..... He is not nearly the player that Garrett is....

Every playoff game 1 that started in Boston went under the total this year!
Out of all the playoff games that the Lakers have played this year (I think 15 games) only 5 have gone over the Total
Everything points to a UNDER

after a long absence i'm back with some NBA Finals picks, haven't made many bets in the past month so hopefully i'm not rusty... here it is, i know you've all been waiting with anticipation
 
Lakers vs. Celtics under 192 (3 units) - both of these teams present hard matchups for one another.  Who will guard Kobe?  Who will guard Gasol?  Odom?  Ray Allen?  Pierce?  KG?  It's already been mentioned that Kobe will guard Rondo when the C's have the ball, basically letting him rest a bit on the defensive end.  Maybe Boston will unretire Larry Legend to shutdown Kobe, or maybe they can play a nice game of H-O-R-S-E with Jordan.  Regardless this series will be amazing, and should definitely go the full 7-games with the format of 2-3-2 (I believe).  Originally I had them to split the first 2 in Boston, then LA winning 2 at home, Boston in the 6th and LA the 7th for the Championship.  I might rethink that strategy because I'm not sure if LA can win a game 6 and/or 7 in Boston. 

Getting back to Game 1 tonight, I'm not quite sure who will win this one.  But be assured come Game 2 I'll be on the opposite side.  That's the main reason I'm sticking with the total and going under 192.  The Lakers just came off a series against a tough defensive team so you can expect some reasonably similar offensive numbers (they averaged 93.4 points).  LA also gave up an avg of 88.4 points to the Spurs, and you can easily argue that Boston is a much better offensive team so that will go up slightly.  On the other side the Celtics scored 91.5 ppg and gave up 89.8 ppg.  Judging by my numbers I would expect the score to have a total of 181.55 points, plus a slight uptick and possible margin for error and I end up with 187 points.  Obviously if you're reading this you'll most likely be watching the game, but also make sure to watch the pre-game intros.  I heard Paul Pierce and Eddie House put together a nice little dance to start things off right.  Enjoy the show...

Lots of time off favors the under.  Nerves and rust could keep the score down in the first half.  I'm playing the Lakers ML.  My strategy is if the spread is under 4 pts and you like the dog, take the moneyline.  With Kobe leading the way and on a MISSION this year, I like the Lakers to win game 1.  I'm thinking it will be a split in Bos, so whomever wins tonight will lose Saturday.  This should be a lot of fun, but I see an LA win by 8-12.

First, for anyone that saw the meltdown in Detroit and took my advice I appologize. I could have offered 1000-1 bets with Pistons up 8 that Boston would not win by 8 and there would have been few if any takers. They were only 1-10 at home when down 8 at half the entire year. The reason for this? To show you that Boston is a unpredictable, unorganized and volitile team. That means they will cost you money!! I don't know if I am getting a team that gets blown out at Atlanta the worst team in the playoffs, can't take on n CLeveland against one player basically, or the later above. With that said I think LA is a far superior team going, 4-0, 4-2, and 4-1 so far in the playoffs. LA will win one of the first two but which one I don't know so I will be playing the under in the 1st since they will both be rusty. Whoever wins the first I will go against in  the second and ride LA from then on. Under 1st quarter, half GL

Where is Nightridah? This game is gonna be tough the spread is way too small for the Boston. Boston is 2.5 favorite is way too little with that spread. Laker might take this game cause the trend people are favoring the Celts with the home court advantage.

Come on Pronk, you have been shitting on the Celtics these entire playoffs.  They are still the best team in the NBA and the likely favorites to win the title because of home court advantage.  Of course I wouldn't be completely surprised if the Lakers won in 5...but I'm guessing 6 or 7 is likely here.

jon_cremins...you are absolutely off your rocker if you think Odom is better than KG.  Rondo and Fisher are pretty much even i'd say, Rondo with the athleticism, and Fisher with the experience.

Interesting line movements as they have moved it up to Celtics -3 and the over/under down to 191.5.  Good news for me, as the bookies trying to get people on the Lakers to balance it out. 

Either way, it should be a great game, and am greatly looking forward to it.  Best of luck to everyone, keep the bullshit to a minimum, and let's keep this to good opinions and information
