Well, for your sake I hope you are correct.... But I believe (with all my money) at Staples Center tonight, in front of a hostile crowd (and Jack N.), they come out with a marginal victory. Covering EASILY!

The OVER is the gimme play tonight.  This series is getting more and more physical and both teams are starting to hate each other more and more.  Therefore, The refs will call a tight game to keep it under control, hence there will a gazillion fouls and lots of free throws.

Gm4 had Den shooting 49 FT attempts to Laker's 35, Den out scored the Lakers by 13 pts at the FT line.

Tonight after Jackson's comments and fine, refs will call it more evenly.

Now that Lebron is hanging by a thread for the finals, Kobe is the only hope for ratings. (which have be up for this yrs playoffs, all the close game drama is attracting viewers)

By the way:

lots of chatter about the "fix" factor not coming through in Cav/Magic gm4,

But the refs did put Cavs on the line 9 more times than then Magic and the Cavs scored 30 pts vs 19 for Magic from the FT line, so they did their work.

The problem was that refs cannot control jump shooting and Orlando put up 17-38 from 3 pt land! That's 51 pts. Magic's season avg for 3 pters is 10-26.

Good outside shooting is the only way to beat the refs. As they have nothing to call since there is no contact as opposed to drives where they determine the charge vs block vs the and one.

Despite incredible shooting by the Magic 50% FG, 44% 3pt, 70%FT they won by only a couple. They even had 7 fewer attempts than the Cavs.

The fix is about close games and drama.

A lot of very valid opinions and insight into tonight's game and some not so insightful.  So I'm sure I'll land somewhere in there.
 
Personally I have to go for LAL tonight.  LA has ALWAYS responded and I believe they have to make this a statement game.  DEN handled them pretty well last time and say what you want but LA has pride, maybe not heart, but a boatload of pride.
 
I also believe that LA has to stiffen up their defense and hopefully they realize that as well.  Usually LA just plain outscores their opponents and plays average defense unless they have to.  DEN has proven they will go shot-for-shot so I anticipate LAL playing 'D' from the beginning and not just waiting until when it counts.
 
To me this spells LAL -6 and the UNDER.
 
GL no matter where you fall.

Tease it to 2 and go under 213 to double it in 2 team tease,
Then take half and double it,
 then put it all on a Russel Baze favorite at Golden Gate.
Then come home and put it on Orlando again tommarow...

Lakers -6  looks like a good play to me. Like Moneymaker, I think the Lakers will blow out Den tonight. Notes to the guys that are planning to tease up on Denver... If you want to tease tonight, tease down on the lakers.
 
I also think Lakers will limit Den to under 100 therefore taking Under.

"Statement" games go both ways, just like G4 of Cle/Orlando. Both teams need the statement, not just the home time, not just the favorite, not just the one down 2-1. It's about BOTH needing momentum and wins, it's elimination in every game, that's why the 12-point blowouts by Cleveland have come to a close, and only 2 5+ point game deciders have happened. That being said, I'm sure most have caught on by now reading the posts, that the biggest blowouts have been in Q1 of all the games.
 
Favorites, which are not covering games, are covering in Q1 and some in First Half (not Lakers incidently, only 1 first half cover).
 
All that aside, I personally think Lakers are the hardest to read team year in and year out, they are a bunch of babies in some games and beasts in others. So which ones show up tonight?
 
Kobe had bad calls, was a victim in the last game, I watched the trip, I saw it, I had the Over so I got the miracle of miracle 78 point 4th to save my ass, but I witnessed the meltdown of foul troubles and the "hatred" brewing. I would be pissed if I were him, if I were all the Lakers, I would come out fired up, whether I win the game or not I dunno, but I'd come OUT thinking vengeance even if the scoreboard doesn't tell me I get it.
 
Bottom Line: Lakers Q1 and no other play. If they don't come out strong and win by 3+ points, as they have in other emotional games, I think Denver wins the game and likely covers the game spread, but Q1 backs up trends and "firey temper" ideas others have.

Been going over this in my mind. Gonna take Lakers 1st Q. Gonna go with Lakers 1st half. Taking Lakers -5 1/2. Gonna have a small play on the over. I've been rooting for the Nuggets, but if Kobe is half as good as he thinks he is, he'll be half as good as MJ and put away the Nuggets. It might not be fair to Kobe to compare him to Michael Jordan, but if Jordan got tripped like he did, there would not even be a contest the next game. So winning by 6, I can see it...  GL to all

Over 53 1st Q.  Over 104 1/2 ist half. Lakers -3 1/2 1st half.
Over 209. Lakers -6.

yah, the books seem to think the lakers cover tonight.  anyone who begs to differ can get some good money on nuggets ML or even a nice fat spread.
