First....thanks to Sasha, Rasta, whatever the hell his name is for hitting the 3 at the buzzer. It was a meaningless 3, but that classless 3 tells me that he was fully aware of the spread and that there are "higher" powers at work in terms of game fixing, spreads etc. Or at least that is my opinion.
Second, when all the excitement is over there is one thing that rings clear to me and that is winning consistently at gambling has NOTHING whatsoever to do with luck. It has everything to do with preparation, DD, line interpretation and understanding true value in a line. Or again, at least that is my opinion.
I like Det tonight for the following reasons....
#1 Their back is against the wall. They tend to do well in games of pressure/importance. While this is a strength for Detroit, it is a definite weakness for Boston. Which brings me to my next point.....
#2 Heart. Det has it and Boston doesnt. Det has experience and recent ringS (plural) to prove it. Boston has no heart or develops intermittent bouts of heart failure during games. From the games I have seen, I cant make up my mind if the failure is more on the shoulders of Doc Rivers or on the shoulders of its big name starters. Personally, I am leaning on the side of most of the blame falling on the Big 3. Dead eye Ray Allen went from baller to buster this playoff series. OK, he hit a few 3's but he has essentially been a liability. Yes, I said liability. KG? A beast for sure, but a beast that doesnt show up King Kong style every night like he can or should. He is one of the elite players in the league but in crunch time, you dont really know if he will show or fold. Which brings me to Pierce. Pierce put the team on his shoulders and carried them home by himself in game 7 against cleveland. As talented as he is he aint carried sh*t of consequence when it really mattered. Let me tell you exactly what I mean by "really mattered". When Bos has a big lead which they have gotten often in the latter two series how is that they can consistently piss away a nice double digit lead in the second half? Lack of heart, experience in clutch situation and piss poor game management is how and all of the Big 3 including the coach have demonstrated a chilling ability to mess up a wet dream when they should be putting teams away. The team, from coach to the Big 3 lacks killer instinct.
#3. Coaching. to me this edge clearly goes to Detroit. Not so much that the Detroit Coach is that much the man, moreso that Doc Rivers, though spirited, isnt. He should be SHOT for allowing a team that talented to look like its head is cut off when the opposing team makes a run. When the going gets tough (in ALL of Boston's series I might add) Doc Rivers gets going...right out the door, cuz he damn sure aint coaching his way to victory lane. He can bitch all he wants at the refs and stomp his feet. But fundamentally speaking if he lacks the ability to focus his squad and rally his troops in times of stress then to me he has little to no true value.
#4 Depth. Detroit has it. Boston doesnt. Period. Even IF, and that is a BIG IF Rip is as busted as the media likes to suggests, the Detroit bench and starting lineup has enough talent and depth to circle the wagons.

Det 1st Q -1.5 3/4 BIG
Det 1st 1/2 - 2.5 Small
Det Game -5 BIG
Det ML 1/2 BIG
