I couldn’t disagree with you more these nba games are anything but coinflips. I have been fading the public throughout the playoffs and have been making a killing doing so.
I agree the lines are right on the money but I also think the line makers know the public action will not be split evenly on some games with some of the lines they open with.
I’m not a believer that the books always try to set the line to get split action on all the games. I believe in some games where they feel they have a very good read on the game that they set a line knowing the public will hammer one side because they believe there is a high probability in covering against the public action with the line they set giving them an opportunity for a big night cleaning up the public action. So when I see the public is hammering one side in the 65%-70% side or total I put my faith in the books that their looking for a big score and have allot more knowledge about the game then the public does. This system is anything but perfect but tends to win more then lose especially when there is less games played NBA playoffs, NFL playoffs. So I guess your right the traditional edge is lost analyzing a game looking for a play but there are other edges to look for which can be very profitable………. best of luck to everyone

Dude you're trippin... Pronk wasn't always on his game in the regular season NBA, but honestly, he's been pretty hot in the playoffs... if i'm not mistaken, he called cleveland in every game of their series with boston, meaning he only lost one in that series... he's had the lakers on the road for their wins... that and i've gained respect for the way that he keeps to the issues and doesn't belabor dumb stuff...
Keep it up pronk... btw, who you liking in game 4 of the NHL finals?

that's the difference between boston and the lakers... kobe knows better, when he has a closeout opportunity, he and fish get the team pumped up, they come out firing and make sure they end it. Boston doesn't have that killer "must win NOW" instinct, and that's why they keep ending up back in boston for a game 7... it's not that they necessarily don't want to end it now, it's just that they don't prepare well enough, and lack the coaching and the mental toughness to come through without the backing of that home crowd noise. If it doesn't bite them in the ass here, it could with the lakers in the finals. You can't keep giving teams the opportunity at a game 7.

Have to agree with you on that one. I didn't see anything on that play that would suggest major damage to this arm/elbow, or anything close to it.
The ML is getting sweeter by the minute for Det.. going to wait a bit then jump on Det ML.![]()
Pronk has been pretty hot of late... however, he's been pretty much against the C's every game in playoffs thus far.. conversly, another poster has been on the C's pretty much every game instead... I would take a grain of salt when it comes to the Celtics with regards to Pronk and CMJ... but they're still solid posters.
NHL game 4 ... have to take the Pens to even up.

Give your battle with fudge, rat and gg a break will you? You and them have so many user id's on this site to keep this childish name calling thirteen year old banter going on for years. First time poster. Whatever.
just to clear the air about this. I am in contact with CK... he doesn't have any aliases... these are just a bunch of wiseasses coming on to ruffle some feathers and make the masses think that they are like a gambling jesus back from the dead or something... CK's posts never sounded anything like those ones and i seriously doubt he would have any interest in creating a buttload of aliases and dancing around the mods... that would just be juvenile. and even though I know his plays, i'm not going to post them on the forum for a couple of reasons...
1-i think that's why zigzack got banned
2-i don't want to hurt the feelings of gg or packersbackers (i get tired of hearing them drone on about him enough as it is)
3-people need to think for themselves a little more and use the resources available to them... besides, what good is seeing his plays if you can't see the logic behind them... that's what i liked about CK... his write ups and explanations that showed how he reached his opinions... otherwise, he'd hardly be different from all wiseguys who drop a play, say something stupid and dissappear.

alright... on to business....
last game we saw a few big things....
-Chauncey nailed a three-pointer from 5 or 6 feet behind the arc which played a huge part in that come back... it wasn't even close... it just swished... that told me that Mr. Big Shot is back... he made plays down the stretch, including the drive and kick to stuckey, and for my money, he will have his best game of the series tonight (might be worth a small prop play... i'll look into it)
-speaking of stuckey... he's here and he's the real deal... he drained that three with as much conviction as billups and looked calm and composed at the line... his miss even rattled inside the hoop before poppin out... really unlucky, but he has ice-water in his veins and with or with out rip tonight, he and chauncey will be big in this game tonight
-the rip thing will cause A LOT of people to jump ship on detroit, but any time i've seen injuries like that happen, i've seen a consistent trend... the team steps up around him and compensates for AT LEAST one game. So to me, that just means that vegas will give detroit backers a little spread discount because of all the skepticism surrounding rip. Nevertheless, he is a gamer. He will be on the floor, and even if he goes out again, detroit is a team oriented bunch, and they will pick him up and rally together
-boston severely lacks mental toughness. Up 17 in the third, they should have started slowing the pace, working it down low to perkins and the big ticket (especially when prince was guarding KG after mcdyess fouled out)... instead, rondo started trying to see if he could bounce passes off the roof, lobbing them up in the air and praying that detroit would just sit back and watch rather than get to them first like the did. Even KG made a couple of dumb passes when he had a wide open look from 17 feet. That's his bread and butter... as bad of looks as they got towards the end, he should have just turned and shot... instead he passed it to his left, right to chauncey. Apparently he forgot that chauncey plays for the other team and isn't going to let him get away with that just cuz they're friends.
-Doc just really doesn't have what it takes to be able to settle his team down and get them back to their game. When he called timeouts down the stretch, he should have run some solid plays to post perkins or KG (who were both hot). He SHOULD have taken the ball out of rondo's hands (when he saw him forget how big kids pass and start playing elementary school street ball) and let paul pierce run some sets and be the creator. How can you get away from the guy who has been their best late game performer. You just need the ball in the hands of your best guys to make smarter decisions and maintain that lead.
-any time sheed gets all heated like that, the pistons respond. they all look at him as their leader, the guy who makes plays late (yeah, even chauncey has said this). When sheed sounds off on something, that team gets pumped up with him, and they respond. Look for sheed to have a good game here too and lead his team to a decisive victory
-pistons love playing with their back against the wall (down 3-2). They are one of the best pressure teams in the game, and will play this strength in a way that is boston's weakness. Boston only handles pressure when they're in the garden, and even then, they get giddy and stupid and let teams come back... detroit finishes and closes games out like professionals
-in game 4 the celtics hung around REALLY long in a game they had no business being a part of... noone was shooting well, and the pistons were lighting it up on the offensive end of the floor. the celtics were huge beneficiaries of the whistle, just like sheed was saying. They went to the line 13 times more than the pistons, and the gap was even bigger than that until they started fouling more late with the game slipping away... i think i remember them showing a stat on the bottom of the screen that boston was 31-35 with FT's and Detroit was 12-17. (something very close to that) I think that in the same way that refs were butt-loving on the spurs with the whistle last night (which is the only reason we didn't win by 15+), they will be "compensating" with the pistons tonight.
All cylinders go on a blowout tonight guys... get ready for game 7
DET -5
DET ML (hedge play)
BOS team total UNDER 85 (smaller play)
(they don't score well on the road without incentive and detroit will be reupping their defense after last game, because that's how they always respond)
i thought about playing on DET team total over 90, but i think it's a lot better to count on their defense than their offense in case it gets ugly)

haha ... HELL YA, i jumped up and yelled louder about that 3 than anything else in the game... my buddy looked at me weird for a second then said "did that cover your spread?" that was one hell of an equalizer, because we should have put the game away up 11, and the refs were really not giving us some calls (make-up for game 4 i guess)

Not knocking you man, but you should put Stooooooooopid in your post and making a "FOOL of himself" when you are doing this too.
Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community
You may be thinking of libel, but it does not apply either in reality since this someones OPINION of someone and there is back and forth banter from all! Youd' have to PROVE the statements are NOT true!
