If you prefer Ron Paul, then why are you voting for Obama? Chuck Baldwin was endorsed by Ron Paul and they are identical on almost every issue. Chuck also said he would have Ron Paul as his Secretary of Treasury. If you keep voting for the lesser of two evils every year, we will never break away from evil. Cheers mate.

I don't remember this discussion, but I'm sure it occurred. Obama and McCain don't have answers to the problems we face, but I don't know where you get Ron Paul not having answers. He's been on Fox Business or other news programs almost daily talking about how to fix the economy. He, unlike most politicians, knows why we were attacked on 9/11 and actually researched the subject. If things aren't changed drastically, America will fall.

I do too - wish he had a little more Senate experience, but think he has the right stuff. Time will tell
I've actually had this idea in the back of my head - that Obama really does mean well (As most Liberals do), but either doesn't get the whole picture or is being taught/manipulated by people of the system. Maybe he'll break out in office and start to make some good changes. Then again, last time a President did that, he got his head blown off.

On the abortion issue...state citizenry? So, if your from California you have different rights than in Utah? I am sorry, on no issue of this importance do different states have different laws except the Death Penalty which effects less then 1% of 1% of the population. I hate abortion but overturning Roe v. Wade is not the answer.
On a different note on the same subject, the Democrats have to begin to understand that this argument does not resonate with the US population. A clear majority of Americans are self described pro-life. I think the lack of the social issues in this election, as well as the focus on the economy, has only helped Obama.

I can think of some other big issues, such as medical marijuana, where laws are different in different states. Under the Constitution, issues where the federal government doesn't have authority to create laws are differed to the state level. I don't really understand what you are saying is negative about having different laws in different states.. Could you get more specific?

You typed a lot, but didn't say very much. It sounds like you are reaching to find anything you can to discredit Dr Paul, but really you don't have much of an argument. I know the Fed is suppose to help manage the economy through things like altering interest rates, but in reality, this institution would be irrelevant in a Ron Paul administration. Since he would be getting rid of the fractional reserve banking system and instituting a completely free market, there would be no need to print off money and no more inflation. Of course, we would also have to vote Libertarians into Congress for this to take place, but having Ron Paul as President wouldn't hurt. Saying things like his plans are a magic wand is just ridiculous. His plans are more in depth and more detailed than anything we've heard from Obama and McCain. He doesn't just say "I'm going to help the American working man" like some up and coming socialist dictator, he identifies the problems and gives the proper diagnosis.

I stand firmly behind my "magic wand" comments because there is MUCH MORE to these ideals than just words on a webpage or in a speech. To actually accomplish what he is suggesting is just not possible, nor would it change anything and it would create chaos to our economy and government.
Libertarians crave chaos and are always bashing those in office, that is their platform and has been since I remember and that is why you see few ever get further than local PTA boards or remote mayoral positions..their ideas are too radical and impractical.
You really really need to investigate what the FED does and the ramification of his ideas and I am very happy that he has no chance to be elected. I am not interested in demolishing the government and having the monetary policy turned into a free market banking system. The free markets are what got us into this credit disaster, regulation is necessary and important. The more you turn things over to the "free markets" the worse the outcome. Economically speaking, the correct balance in a free market economy is the private sector performing their part while being observed in doing so and have a checks and balance system in place.
I dont get it really..it is like Jim Jones in here..people just flocking to these heavily radical ideas without understanding what the ramifications and implausibilities that exist and the resulting shock to the system that this person would have if elected.

I stand firmly behind my "magic wand" comments because there is MUCH MORE to these ideals than just words on a webpage or in a speech. To actually accomplish what he is suggesting is just not possible, nor would it change anything and it would create chaos to our economy and government.
Libertarians crave chaos and are always bashing those in office, that is their platform and has been since I remember and that is why you see few ever get further than local PTA boards or remote mayoral positions..their ideas are too radical and impractical.
You really really need to investigate what the FED does and the ramification of his ideas and I am very happy that he has no chance to be elected. I am not interested in demolishing the government and having the monetary policy turned into a free market banking system. The free markets are what got us into this credit disaster, regulation is necessary and important. The more you turn things over to the "free markets" the worse the outcome. Economically speaking, the correct balance in a free market economy is the private sector performing their part while being observed in doing so and have a checks and balance system in place.
I dont get it really..it is like Jim Jones in here..people just flocking to these heavily radical ideas without understanding what the ramifications and implausibilities that exist and the resulting shock to the system that this person would have if elected.
Ron Paul is probably the last person I would ever vote for if running for president and that includes Bush II running for a THIRD term.
