A new report from the congressional research service (the gold standard) shows that issuing tax cuts for wealthy people do not spur job growth.

Right, so what did the GOP do.. they got the report squashed as it was set to be released this upcoming week. Obviously would not have been good news for Myth Robney, since his entire economical plan relies on the promise of job growth through trickle down.

Well luckely for us various media outlets have picked up on the story and the report have been released.

The results of the analysis suggest that changes over the past 65 years in the top marginal tax rate and the top capital gains tax rate do not appear correlated with economic growth. The reduction in the top tax rates appears to be uncorrelated with saving, investment, and productivity growth. The top tax rates appear to have little or no relation to the size of the economic pie.However, the top tax rate reductions appear to be associated with the increasing concentration of income at the top of the income distribution. As measured by IRS data, the share of income accruing to the top 0.1% of U.S. families increased from 4.2% in 1945 to 12.3% by 2007 before falling to 9.2% due to the 2007-2009 recession. At the same time, the average tax rate paid by the top 0.1% fell from over 50% in 1945 to about 25% in 2009. you can put "trickle down econimics" in the same category as "job creators", "protect our freedom", "sanctity of marriage", "support our troops" "family values" and other foxnews derived propaganda bullshit. corporate profits were an an all time high over the summer, contrary to the socialist gloom and doom discussed on foxnews. despite record profits for corporations, the middle class is in the toilet and unemployment is still high.

this isn't brain surgery. it's simple logic. but at some point, if the foxnews crowd is going to tell people 2 + 2 = 5 over and over and people are going to believe it, they get what they deserve.

Defense cuts. Withdrawal from European and non essential areas. Aviation has made the need for remote locations obsolete. Navy can provide better and cheaper logistics via the
Fleet.
Moratorium on defense manufacturing. No planes tanks etc

Stop paying to militarize the police and don't spend federal money on domestic drones.

Abolish the ATF and DHS. Re-route their responsibilities to FBI.

Moratorium on all foreign aid pending review and voting by congress.

Withdrawal from UN, UNiCEF, World Bank etc.

Willard "Mitt" Romney will be elected on November 6, 2012 and inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States on January 20, 2013.

When this occurs, there will be good changes happenning in America. Hopefully with a Republican majority in Congress, President Romney will be able to repeal Obamacare that was legislated and enacted into law in 2010.

Also there needs to be dramatic cuts to wasteful government programs and agencies such as the Department of Educaton, Energy, and Labour while at the same time, ensuring that the Pentagon and military spending continue to increase. American soldiers and sailors need the proper weapons and tools in order to confront dangerous countries such as Iran, North Korea, Libya, and Syria and the only way to do that is by increasing funding for defense.

I believe Mitt Romney will live up to the expectations of two other great American presidents, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. That is the kind of leadership the Americans desperately need at this crucial time in their history. Mark my word, if the American public make the mistake of giving this incompetent buffoon Obama another 4 years, the most talented U.S. citizens will immigrate into Canada and we will only take the best educated, what's left the "Food Stamp President" can pay for until the tax payers well is dried up. So choose wisely America you're economic future depends on it!

last time i saw, and i doubt it&#x27;s changed much, when the deficit was through the rook, spending was up by 4 percentage points of gdp and revenue was down by 4 percentage points of gdp.  why then is it only a spending problem?

It is a spending problem because we are wastefully burning through the confiscated assets of the American Taxpayer.   The tax code is a mess, and I agree that it needs to be reformed.  To merely raise taxes and increase confiscation at gunpoint does nothing but perpetuate an inept, corrupt, and wasteful group. By passing higher taxes on the rich, the foot is in the door to raise them for everyone. Remember that when the income tax was conceived, it was only for the top 1% type people, and it was very low. Now normal middle class people are paying up to 30% of their income to uncle sam along with other taxes that exploit the citizenry, such as estate taxes, capital gains etc.  It is asinine.  Under no circumstances should the confiscation of personal wealth be increased.

but if the deficit appears to be equal parts increased spending and decreased revenue, or close to it, how do you fix the problem by only addressing the spending? that's what i'm not hearing, nor have i ever heard by anyone who just looks at one side of the equation.
