Does anyone here have any evdience that freedoms and liberties are being taken away ? Or is this just the usual right wing scare tactics ??

The Affordable Care Act puts people, not health insurance companies or government, in charge of health care. The new law strengthens the existing employer-based health insurance market while making the market fair for consumers by implementing landmark consumer protections. There is no government-sponsored, public, or "single payer" plan in the law.

More freedom and protections that ever, in addition poor families now have choices as befroe they had none.

3 YEARS AGO AT OBAMA'S INAGURATION, I HAD TEARS IN MY EYES . . .  TODAY, I STILL DO, BUT FOR DIFFERENT REASONS.

There's always a few.  I think same thing happened a few times with Bush.  They can do what they want and people can judge how they want.  So don't go.  Hardly worth much of a thought.  Most people think it reflects poorly on his judgment and citizenship, but to each his own.

Respect is earned - it's never just given because of somebody's title.

He might be an idiot, but he has the right to make choices and have the freedom to do so...

I would think that going and having a few polite words about his views with the president would seem like a better strategy but this is more about "showing emotion" then "telling his view"

I laugh when when incidents like this happen because the only one making this political are the Presidents who want to rub elbows with athletes. Did any previous Presidents attend any game other than an all-star or World Series game besides Bush, and he only went to Texas Rangers games because he had a vested interest.
Didn't Rasheed Wallace say something like "I'm not going to see that President (Bush), he ain't my President"?

When I was growing up I never took pictures with politicians, my father wouldn't allow it. Even on a smaller venue, City level politics, politicians want to rub elbows with the elite athlete(s) so it fools the voter in assuming the politician made the athlete. In fact its the reverse and that's why they do it.

I didn't say a bad word about Rasheed and I won't say a bad word about Tim Thomas, they both made their own decision not to attend.

You understand that Obama signed these into law right, and that his signature is not bipartisan.  

You understand that his signature made legal the most heinous abuses of power since FDR. 


How could you carry the water for a man like this.  That would literally sign away our freedom with only a caveat of assurance that he would not use it.  

You can say I am being dramatic, but he signed away the first, fourth and  fifth, amendments in one swoop.  

The patriot act, I agree has been a bipartisan shitfest.  but why does it matter what party does it?   There have been 2 men in the past 11 years that have been responsible for taking our freedoms and liberties, shitting on the constitution and making our rights obsolete.  
I bet you know who one of them is.  

and the other is Obama.  

Face facts bud,  you can't just stick your head in the sand.

I'm intrigued that one of the right wingers in this thread is criticizing Obama for the Patriot Act, mandating health care, and the NDAA, yet that person supports Gingrich.
