Dan,  but they won...  Isnt this a win for the GOP?

Its not like he got his old job back right?  he simply moved to another job in a district that supported him...  seems like a pretty smart move...

why not give him or GOPs in his state credit for playing it right and winning?

the pension thing can be said of any elected official... not just the ones that pull insane stunts like this...  but in the end people vote for the candidate and party that is most like them as people and represent their core values most similarly...  and this election may simply be a reflection of the moral fiber of the his party and supporters...  

Why is that a bad thing letting people vote for who and what is most consistent with their own personal values and beliefs?

The district voted for Mitt Romney by 22%. America voted for Obama by 4%. That means the district was about 26% more Republican than the nation! That is what gerrymandering does. Makes competitive Congressional races few and far between. Both parties do it so I won't whine about it. 

It isn't a surprise that Sanford even with his flaws won. Even if Colbert-Busch won she would have most lost in November 2014. It isn't surprising that Sanford won the GOP Primary. Many GOP Primary voters are idiots who could care less about electability and they care about purity and who has a big mouth. Their stupidity costed them Senate seats in Nevada, Colorado, Delaware, Indiana and Missouri and they have showed no signs of letting up. Romney while flawed was their best candidate IMO. He was able to win the primary because the clowns (Newt and Santorum mostly) split the vote too many ways. 

I'm enjoying the GOP continually sabotage themselves and then wonder why they couldn't beat Obama.

Dan... I didnt care about clintons crap and I didnt care about newt's.... I have said time and time again that had the GOP ran newt I would have voted for him because he has a solid record of conservative values as opposed to the flip-flopper who has no idea where he stood so neither did voters...

so let's move past that issue...

whats your understanding of what he did beyond cheating on his wife with this scandalous affair?

Newt was cleared of all allegations except one minor incident. He taught a college class and used tax-exempt funds to distribute films of that class. Big deal. The House Ethics committee fined him for not using a lawyer and for the cost of investigating the 74 other BS accusations. Nice system. Someone trumps up 75 charges against you and you have to pay for the investigation???

I have said over and over again that romney was a huge blunder in strategy to run against obama...  paul and newt would have gotten my vote...
